    Chris and Claire Vacations

    Sunday, October 25, 2009, 01:01 PM [General]

Claire and Chris Redfield were sitting home after the last zombie fight, when they realized that they didn't have vacations in a very long time. After a very short discussion, they decided heading to Europe, to the sunny Algarve in Portugal.

They found a very nice hotel in the Internet, and flight to there. After leaving the luggage in in the room, they headed to the beach.

They had been catching sun and listening nothing than the waves hitting the sand for over an hour,

when Claire starts listening someone moving right next to her. She moves her body to allow her to look to the place where the noise is coming, and she sees what appears to be a Zombie. "No way, a Zombie, in here? How can that be possible, how did the T-virus get in here?!".

Thinking that she's dreaming, she rubs her eyes just to realize that there are two zombies looking at her, and murmuring something that she doesn't understand.

Immediately she gets up and pulls Chris, this movement causes the zombies to step back. Chris was sleeping, and the first thing he sees is a zombie looking at him, bringing the horrible memories of Raccoon City and the horrible mutations caused by the virus.

After about 5 seconds of inertia, Chris and Claire step back towards the water, as the Zombies continue to whisper something unintelligible.

Chris recovers from the initial shock, and starts looking for his weapon. With is brain still not 100%, he takes a while to realize that it isn't with him. He could kill the zombies in 2 seconds with his excellent aiming capabilities, but firearms are not allowed in air-planes and he had to leave his at home.

"I don't have my weapon with me" -- he says to Claire.
"Ok, then just run" -- she replies.

They start running, with the zombies following them. Chris noticed that they were not as slow as usual, "they must have been infected with a new virus variant". After a few minutes of running, they arrive at the end of the beach, with a very tall stone wall. They only notice it too late, now there's no room for escaping somewhere else. They turn around and decide to face the zombies.

Chris thinks: "Come on, I've faced hundreds of guys like you, some of them with just a knife, why am I running away from just two of you?" Of course deep inside Chris knew that he ran away because this time he couldn't count with his knife. That was when Claire remembered that inside her bag she had a knife.
"Come on, I'm waiting for you" -- she says whilst withdrawing the knife.

The zombies immediately stop, and one of them talks in simple English:

"Oh, sorry I didn't realized you were not from here. We are just looking for the party of Mr. Ronaldo, since you were dressed like that on the beach we thought you were also part of the invitees. Sorry if we scared you."

After a minute of silence, Claire and Chris looked at each other: "We definitely need some vacations."

Claire turns her head towards the normal human beings just dressed as zombies for a party: "do you think Mr. Ronaldo would mind if we joined the party?"

Thus, Chris and Claire join the party and spend a very nice evening drinking and talking.

    The end.

Customising my PS3 with RE5 skin

    Monday, September 28, 2009, 06:30 PM [General]

I've always looked to my PS3 and thought that something was missing. I'm not saying it is ugly, I like the simplicity of all that black with "PlayStation 3" on it, but some colour was missing.

I had already searched for skins for my PS3, but since I live in a small town local stores don't have them. Of course, theses days the Internet has everything a gamer want, I looked for them at amazon.co.uk (there is no amazon.pt) but the price never tempted me (besides the shipping costs could also reach a big % of the skin value).

However, in my recent business trip to USA I ran into a Gamestop shop, and decided to enter look for some cool skins. Transformers, Batman, quite disappointed with those, than I found on sale the official one for Resident Evil 5. Perfect! Bought it, bring it home, and used it on my PS3 and controller. I was only surprised that the controller one was rigid, it feels strange when I push a button, but it's just a matter of being used to it.

    Final result:

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite signed copy

    Friday, July 3, 2009, 01:38 PM [General]

So, Am I or not a lucky person? While I was at work I decided to log in at the Capcom Europe forums to see what news were rolling, and I headed straight to the "General" sub-forum. This is the forum I visit most, now that the Resident Evil 5 is no longer fresh news.  The first thing I noticed is a thread of up-to-grabs related to Monster Hunter Freedom United. I just read a few posts of it to understand what was being given, and I was able to reply in time of getting a copy of the game signed by the producer Ryozo-san. It arrived a few days later, and here are the pics of it:

I'm affraid of putting the UMD inside my PSP, I don't want to ruin the paint of the pen...

    Resident Evil 5 signed copy

    Saturday, May 9, 2009, 07:17 PM [General]

Before I went to the Captivate, there was a nice give-away at the Capcom Europe forums. Standees and cubes, from Devil May Cry and Resident Evil 5 for the fastest ones. Curiously, some of the members wanted a cube signed by Tenebra, our Senior On-line Marketing & Community Manager. I had already read a post made by Kramez in which he stated that Kawata-san was going to be there, so I picked-up my RE5 steel-book case and a CD/DVD labelling pen, and put them in my backpack.

When I was at the airport, Ana asked me what was my schedule for the next days. Nobody gave me anything, I had no idea on what was going to happen, nor when. But that changed when I arrived (late due to plane not being ready to take off when it should be) at the hotel, the batch they gave me had the program for the three days: Resident Evil presentation was only on Thursday.

On Thursday there I was, ready for hearing everything about the Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, presented by Kawata-san and Noguchi-san (from Cavia), with Ben Judd as the translator. After the presentation and Q&A session (I asked two questions: was it going to be playable on-line - no, was the answer; Leon falls at a certain part of the demo, so I asked if it was possible to avoid it - no, it's part of the interaction that is going to happen between Leon and Claire) I asked Ben if it was possible for Kawata-san to sign my copy, and got a positive answer. I was quite sad because Takeuchi-san wasn't there, but then Ben told me he was the Lost Planet 2 presenter, which by coincidence was the next presentation in my program.

In the next presentation same happens, after the Q&A I sneaked near the translator and asked him if it was possible, Takeuchi-san agreed and I gave him the case and the pen. He identified the signature of Kawata-san at the top of it, and signed on the bottom. The final result, you can see under this line :)

The Americans and Japanese may have their collectors editions (I tried to get the American one but with no avail, the only shop that was exporting to Europe was charging 30€ to ship, no way!), but I have a more rare "signed by the producers" steel-book case.
