I would count that as one of the reasons, but not the main reason. I mean I also own Puzzle Fighter and Pocket Fighter and a whole myriad of fighting games. I bought Marvel vs Capcom 2 because I was able to find it cheap, in good condition, and because I had heard that it was a good (albeit unbalanced) fighting game. I've had many good matches with friends and family on it, so it hasn't just rotted in my collection.

    1. I don't use Amazon, ebay or anything like that unless it's a game I really want to play or for some reason (usually unlikely) found it for cheap on eBay. Amazon I can't though because I'm Canadian.

I live for the hunt though, today alone I found 2 rare games and a boxed copy of Megaman X, prior to that I did not have a boxed copy of it, just loose. So I'm very happy with today's outing.

    2. I play Mega Man because I love it, I love the gameplay, I love the music, I love eveything about it and I do hold it dear becaose of memories, so it's pretty much an all encompasing thing. I'm also really good at Mega Man games, years of practice. (but not good at only Mega Man games)

    3. Strict game collecting takes patience more than money, at least the way I do it. There are impulse buys and then there are times where you need to be careful. If you really want something, you need to be able to set your price. I saw Kirby's Dreamland 3 today at a pawnshop, but for $40, it's not worth that much to me... I will wait and see if I find it later down the road. But Boxed Mega Man X for $18, I'm there. Same with Clay Fighters Tournament Edition. Absolutely worth picking up for $12.

Some collectors though are more about money than patience. Me, I prefer the hunt, careful rounds of all the places that games come in and deciding when it's good to buy and when it's not. I also keep a guide with me and a cross section of my games catalogued.

It's worthwile to know how rare your games are and as such how much they might be worth.

That can help you figure out what's worth a lot and what's not.

If you're into Street Fighter do you also collect the sister games such as Rival Schools and Project Justice?

    Regardless, Happy Collecting. =)
