Finally, a smile from Ryu!
It is with great pleasure to announce that Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix has sold over 250,000 units year to date. HD Remix has shattered both day one and week one sales records and will most likely break 30 day sales records as well. It's on its way to becoming the highest grossing digital title ever.
It would be idiotic and quite frankly, irresponsible to attribute the success of this game to just one person. That's like saying Boxer has better kicks than Chun-Li, it just ain't true. We'd like to thank everyone who poured their heart and soul to reviving one of gaming's most beloved franchises. From the producer, Rey Jimenez, to the folks from Backbone and Udon, to the product development, business development and marketing teams at Capcom, HD Remix was a labor of love for everyone involved.
Last but not least, I want to give a big shout out to the hard core Street Fighter community (yes you Shoryuken, Unity, and Key Stoners) who kept this game relevant for the past 15 years and spread the word to the entire gaming industry that Street Fighter is still the "best around"!

Joe Esposito once eloquently proclaimed that "History repeats itself" and it's an honor for me to announce that Street Fighter returns today on the PlayStation Network. On a personal note, it's been a dream of mine to work on this franchise. I remember going to the local 7-11 and spending hours trying to pull off an invisible throw or handcuff glitch. I remember sharing theories with my friends that it was possible to throw that rock in the Chun-Li stage, pull out Guile's gun, control Ryu's red fireballs or defeat the mysterious Sheng Long. Street Fighter was a cultural phenomenon not seen since the days of Pac Man. Here we are, almost 20 years later, and this franchise is as relevant as ever.
I'm also really excited to give you a soundtrack inspired by the Street Fighter series. The Street Fighter Underground Remix soundtrack contains tracks from artists that I admire with that underground, hip hop flavor. Did I mention that you can download these tracks for free on the PlayStation Network? I have fond memories battling my frat bros on the SNES and listening to Souls of Mischief's "93 til Infinity". You know Hieroglyphics had to be on the album. You'll also hear the musical stylings of Redman, Oh No, Mistah F.A.B, Zion I, DJ Toure and the turntable legend himself, DJ Qbert. Oh, did I mention these tracks were FREE? Go to our MySpace Music page to hear previews of the songs. Make sure you add us!
It's my pleasure to reveal part 3 of a 3 part video series celebrating Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, launching tomorrow on PSN and Wednesday on XBLA. Go check out the HD version on GameTrailers.
Everytime I hear this song, it gets me so hyped that I want to crane kick someone just for the heck of it! A lot of the younger kids didn't really get these videos. Man, I feel old. Daniel-san? 80's tournament montage? You're the Best? Go rent the DVD kids. :)
Here's a treat for all you Street Fighter fans: The world premier of the official trailer for Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix! It's part one of a four part video series with a song that will either make you say, "Hell yes!" or "WTF was that?"
Max Hoberman, the President and co-founder of Certain Affinity and developer of the upcoming downloadable pirate action RTS, Age of Booty, has a blog up on PlayStation.com. He's answering questions from the community, so here's your chance to find out more about 'Booty, (more info than what you can get from your friends or parents.)
The XBLA version launches this Thursday, October 15, with the PSN and PC version to follow soon after.
