From my previous blog post I've given you guys the preview of the revoltech SF online toys, where you see Ryu and Chun-li. Ryu and the other girl named Teiran / He-Tie-Shou in SFOL are now out on pre-orders and will be available at October 2008.
Iam here now with you guys to do a little review on Ryu. Iam not gonna compare them to SOTA Toys since it's a different line, so what Iam gonna do here is to give a simple break down of Pro's and Cons of this toy product. Also note this is only the prototype figure they're might be changes when it arrives locally in your area.
So here's Ryu. Awesome anin't he? lol

Pros:
Ryu here has a stand to keep him blanced and to make him "FLOAT" somewhat when posing him using his arial moves. Staying true to his design, Ryu here has his trademark red bandana, white gi, with no Japanese letters on his gi belt, but has Japanese characters on his left leg gi, his face is similar to SFIV with those side burns lol and he has large feet and hands and you know what they say about men with LARGE hands and feet, they're born with big bones lol! :D
Kidding aside looking at this figure from the side looks excellent , you can see the revo joints on the hands, ankles and feet, but bearly on the elbows which is a plus which makes the figure look more REAL than a fully articulated toy.
Cons:
Ryu's back looks good? Read my review!

Ryu's back looks fine, but look where did they put the hole. They've put the hole right in his butt. XD. lol! It's like when you're gonna pose Ryu you're screwing in the POLE stand in his butt. Why didn't they put the hole in the belt which is more proper since the pole stand is black and Ryu's belt is black, but no they had to make a hole in Ryu's butt to put in the stand.
Ok moving on to poses. Ryu's 3 Ansatsuken moves.
Ryu's Hurricane Kick

Pro's:
Looks cool when seeing front and both sides. Like the real deal hurricane kick Ryu you see in the arcades and games.
Cons:
Just look at that pole stand in Ryu's butt That can say it all. Also I wish they made the pole longer so it would look like he's really in the air when looking at a distance, but this is a prototype we dunno if the final release would have a longer stand.
Sho-Ryu-Ken!!!

Pro's:
Looks excellent since you can keep adjusting the figure to fully make a proper shoryuken.
Cons:
Same as the the one I mentioned with his hurricane kick.
HA-DOU-KEN!!! Ryu's signiture move!

Pros:
Simply great you can move Ryu's abdomen to do a shinku hadouken and his legs and body movement are all excellent plus the hadouken is attachable to his fists as seen in the 3rd pic which prevents it from falling off. Also the hadouken is well detailed from the trow position.
Cons:
WTF is going on here? Is that even a hadouken? It's excellently detailed for surge fists, but it looks more like Dan's Ga-dou-ken. Man! I can't feel the focus and the power Ryu has when trowing these babies with that kind of Hadouken. It's too small!!! Also it seems there's no other facial reaction for Ryu here, you can't feel the Hoooooo.....HADOUKEN!!! And picture his face screaming like a dragon breathing fire. Hadouken is not big enough for my taste and no other facial expression.
Overall this is a great poseable figure which you can pose anyway you want and pose Ryu like what he does in SFgames or something original like on the first pic above cool eh? That's probably the best thing about this figure the poses and his transistion from the SFOL game to a figure. Worth buying ? Hell yeah!
My Figure Rating for this is 4 out of 5.
