Long time no talk. This is Producer Kitabayashi.

I’d like to express my deepest condolences once again to all those affected by the great earthquake that struck the northeastern region of Japan. Moreover, I extend my deep feelings of sorrow and regret to those who lost their lives as well as to their bereaved loved ones.

This disaster has exceeded our worst fears, causing unprecedented devastation. The media’s ongoing coverage of the affected regions makes me wish there was something more I could do, and this causes my heart to hurt with grief.

Money donations and conservation of energy and water are things all of us can do to help out, but I wanted to figure out what it was that we could do because of who we are. What could we do to help that others could not? When I contemplated this, I discovered one answer:

“We can cheer people up by creating something that everybody can enjoy.”

For those of us in the game industry, I believe that is one thing that we can, nay, must do.

All people, not just in Japan, but all over the world, are dealing with all sorts of circumstances and experiencing all sorts of emotions.

Even if we only bring one smile to one person’s face, even if we only shine a single ray of light upon just one person’s heart, I believe beyond doubt that the game we create can help make the future a bit brighter. And so believing, I’d like to once again embark on this path.

The Mega Man Legends 3 Developer Room updates, which had been on temporary hold, will begin their gradual pickup in the coming days and weeks.

With our slogan and plea, “Mega Maniacs Wanted! For a Project of Legendary Proportions!” held high, I wish to work together with the entire community to create a project the likes of which people have never seen.

We of the Mega Man Legends 3 Development Team will continue looking forward, pushing onward with the development of this game.

So come on, everybody. Let’s race toward a bright future.
