Interview with Ari Arad on Kotaku, mention of Lost Planet movie

    Friday, October 3, 2008, 02:31 PM [General]

Kotaku has an interview up with Ari Arad, where he talks to John Gaudiosi about many of the video game movies that he and his father Avi currently have rolling at Arad Productions (no website? odd...). There's a paragraph on Lost Planet in there that gives some interesting hints towards how that movie is shaping up. Ari was part of the collection of amazing talent that we managed assemble on-stage during E3 for our big Lost Planet movie announcement and was a geniunely nice guy with a real interest in games. I spent a somewhat terrifying 2 hours at the Arad Productions offices the day before E308 kicked off, running through the proposed LP movie conference flow with Haruhiro Tsujimoto (president of Capcom), Keiji Inafune (Capcom's head of R&D), Ari and Avi Arad (the man who kick-started Marvel's movie biz), super-producer Steven Paul and a bunch of other movie-type bigwigs. Talk about being out of your pay-grade. Despite the fact that everyone in the room could have me fired and/or purchased for medical testing in an eyeblink, I was amazed at how chill and un-Ari Gold/alpha-male they all were.

Wow, I had no idea a Lost Planet movie was even in production.

I wonder, did Avi Arad really say "VF suits" or was John Gaudiosi not able to understand his accent?
