Capcom rocks 1up.com's Game of the Year 2007 Nomin

    Monday, December 3, 2007, 02:50 PM [Capcom®]

1up.com just spilled the beans on their categories and nominees for Game of the Year 2007, and we're pleased as punch to see that there are several Capcom games included on their list. We're both amazed and excited to see Zack and Wiki on the 1up list for Game of the Year. Of course, we're also realistic, seeing as how it's a very long list and contains games like Bioshock and... well, other games, but Bioshock is on there, so I'm pretty sure I know right where that particular award is going: Ken Levine's desk. And you know what? I'm alright with that. If you're not too busy now, might we suggest you follow the jump to 1up and vote for some of our fine, fine products? Danke! Remember: Guitar Hero, Call of Duty, Mario, Bioshock, etc. are all selling just fine, but Z-Dub could use some serious love! Here's how the award season is looking for Capcom at 1up: Best Action Game:
    • Resident Evil 4 Wii edition
    Best Adventure Game:
    • Zack & Wiki
    • Monster Hunter Freedom 2
    • Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations
    Best Console Downloadable Game:
    • Super Puzzle Fighter II HD Remix
    Game of the Year:
    • Zack & Wiki

I See What You're Doing There...

Webcam CapHere in the Capcom labs, we're living in the future. You out there in Internetland, you just think you're in the future, but our cutting edge is so much more cutting edge than yours that I just gave my brain a papercut thinking about it. In keeping with our overall nature as curious-but-lethal androids from Earth's distant future (only about 2032, actually; you people might want to spend a little more time thinking about this whole global warming thing), we here at Capcom have instituted the latest rev of Web 2.0™ goodness: our own cam. While I can't promise you there won't come a point in time where Seth, Chris or myself has to sexy-dance for cash ala Niki in Heroes -- but with much more flab and hair in strange places -- I can promise you that we will be encouraging all the folks here at Capcom to stop by the cam and contribute... something.

the new Capcom cam! the webcam up close. note stick… the whiteboard!

As you can see from these totally awesome pics from my mobile (we really need to invest in an office digital camera), our cam is not just a cam. Oh no, no no, my friends! In fact, it is a webcam ON A STICK. A WEBCAM ON A STICK, POINTED AT A WHITE BOARD! We're going to use this combination of jaw-droppingly-rad technology to give you a glimpse into our random daily lives here at the Capcom North American headquarters. This will totally end up being like that one really funny episode of The Office, except without commercials and that hot chick who is Quincy Jones's daughter. The photo at the top of the post is one of the first images we received from the webcam. The camera will refresh every 15 seconds or so, which may lend itself to all sorts of unintentional hilarity. Hijinks, even. Capcom Community All-Staff: We're working for a better tomorrow!

Lupe liveLupe Fiasco is out promoting his upcoming album, "The Cool," and had this to say to Entertainment Weekly in a recent interview: I heard in a few songs there you mentioned the name of your next album, L-U-P-End. So I take it you're sticking to your promise of making three albums and then you're out? "Yeah, I think so. I'm 85 percent. My final album is L-U-P-End, and it comes from video games. I love video games, especially Capcom, and you can only put three letters when the game is over — three letters and ''END.'' Side note: I tried to drop in a YouTube link to the video for Lupe's awesome "Kick Push" but it seems that Atlantic Records doesn't actually want people to see or hear his music. Tell me again, why is the music industry dying?

Ziff-Davis visits Capcom Shoe and Ryan

What's up with these dudes? Why are they so obviously enjoying themselves so much in these crappy phonecam shots? And what has prompted a visit to Capcom's Bay Area office from some of EGM/1up's most senior folks? Only time will tell...
