United Cutlery forges Devil May Cry 4's Red Queen! Plus details on early auction

Monday, June 29, 2009, 04:26 PM [Devil May Cry]

Wow. Do want! United Cutlery is creating a 42" replica of Red Queen, Nero's sword from Devil May Cry 4. Sure, it may not be life-sized, but it's still rad. The sword was designed by UC's master weapon designer, Kit Rae, and is incredibly detailed, all the way down to Red Queen's crazy throttle on the guard. I have a bunch of pics in a gallery right here.

This authentic replica of Red Queen stretches a massive 42” overall in length and offers a 31 ¾” stainless steel blade (false-edged). The genuine leather wrapped grip is surrounded by solid metal handle parts. Each sword is individually serial numbered and includes a custom display plaque and certificate of authenticity.

I have an older Kit Rae-designed United Cutlery sword hanging on the wall of my office, so I can vouch for the quality of the steel they produce. We're going to be carrying the sword on our e-Store once it's available as a Comic-con exclusive, but if you're a hardcore DMC fan, you can try to get your hands on one early by taking part in the auction being held for the first 100 swords over on the Bud K Catalog site. Think of this as the ultimate cosplay accessory and/or conversation starter in a bar.

'Member DMC4? MTV does! Nero makes Multiplayer's Top 10 Gaming Moments of 2008

Monday, December 22, 2008, 02:21 PM [Devil May Cry]

Over at MTv, Stephen T looks back at his favorite gaming moments of the year, which is an interesting read as it is much more than the usual gush of Gears/Rock Band/Fallout 3/whatever praising that you're going to find everywhere else on teh webz0rz. Amongst his callouts for the year is DMC4's outstanding aerial combat, which caught me off guard. Mostly because I realized that just 11 months after the release of DMC4 that I've almost totally forgotten about the game! We were incredibly undermanned here at Capcom when the game released (the communications team is literally 200% larger in December than it was in January) and so much has happened this year. Thanks, Stephen, for reminding me about one of the great games that I worked my tail off on this year!
