I've spent a little bit of time with Fate/Unlimited Codes, but in that time, I've really grown to like the game. It's hard to pull off a fighting game on the PSP, but Fate works well and it's one of the better looking PSP titles I've seen. This will be a perfect title to fall back on when Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is making you crazy (TIGREX BASTICH!!1). Plus, it's only available from the PlayStation Network Store, so it's cheaper than most PSP titles ($29.99) and you can pick it up whenever you like without having to leave your warm, moist gaming cavern.
Man, people really, really love the old Disney platform games for the NES that Capcom cranked out back in the 80s/90s. Over on Bitmob's gaming-blog-orama, there's an article on the 10 Greatest NES Games of All Time... That Weren't Made by Nintendo and Capcom pretty much sweeps the competition, taking four of the ten spots. Read the article for an interesting trip down memory lane, reminding us of a simpler time when even seemingly innocuous licensed games could be excellent. Strange that Street Fighter 2010 didn't make this list...
Marvel VS Capcom 2 is off to a huge start (as you can undoubtedly tell by perusing the in-game leader boards) and we haven't even dropped on PS3 yet! On the Twitter feed today (you are following @Capcom_Unity, right? Right?) , I noticed a user by the name of WiredWired asking, "Any way we can get the background of MvC2 menu (XBLA) as a wallpaper for 360 / PS3 / PC?" There sure is! I hit up Rey J and he immediately responded with these two images taken from both the game's Start screen and Menu screen. They're 1980 X 1024 resolution, which is the largest we can get them out of the game code. Grab the full-sized images from my Gallery and roll your own PS3 or PC/Mac/whatevs background.
After much waiting, Xbox 360 owners will finally be getting their twitchy thumbs all over Marvel VS Capcom 2 tomorrow. Yay! You PS3 owners are gonna have to be patient for a bit, but both groups can enjoy this trailer for Marvel's Feb. 2010 animated Planet Hulk while sweating out the final hours/days until the game is released.
Marvel debuted this clip at Comic-con to a room full of cheering fanbois and after watching it I almost burst into applause in my office. Planet Hulk was one of the best story arcs to hit comics in years, concluding in the less-awesome World War Hulk event that capped off Civil War. I'll be grabbing this Blu-Ray on day one!
