The last breath of hope fades away: new RE Darkside Chronicles trailer on IGN

Thursday, July 2, 2009, 01:21 PM [Resident Evil]

Hey, kids! Do you hate zombies, mutants, zombie mutants and/or mutant zombies? Then do we have a Wii game for you! Our firends at IGN have just unleashed a new trailer for Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, which we've helpfully embeded above. The guys also have a ton of new screen shots, so you look at them, too.

If you're going to Comic-con this year, not only will you have the opportunity to play this game, but you might also score a limited edition REDSC t-shirt that is so friggin' cool it will blow your mind, thus allowing zombies easier access to nibble on your delicate, tasty grey matter.

Capcom E3 Mystery Title #2: Resident Evil PSP

Monday, June 8, 2009, 02:41 PM [Resident Evil]

Blink and you might have missed it, but Jack Tretton, head of PlayStation in the US (and crack hockey player, to boot) dropped the b0mbz0rz on Capcom E3 Mystery Title #2 on stage during the Sony E3 press conference. Whadda we got for you in terms of info? At this point, very little. The game is some ways off, so don't be expecting this one to come home with you when you upgrade to the PSP Go in the fall. I can tell you that Capcom is working very closely with Sony on this title, as it's something that both companies have wanted on the PSP for quite some time. It's not a "remake" of a previous RE game, but an all-new title created specifically for the PSP platform, with the PSP Go in mind. I've managed to sneak a look at a very early game design document for this title and all I am allowed to say is: Wow. Totally different for a Resident Evil game. More in the future, promise!

    Kramez on Planet Resident Evil

Thursday, May 28, 2009, 05:34 PM [Resident Evil]

Things you can learn from reading the transcription of the Skype interview I did with Planet Resident Evil the other day:

    1. I say "You know" far too much, evidently. Usually those sort of mental mouthfarts are removed in the transcription process to make the interviewee sound like less of an idiot, but caveat emptor or something.

    2. Language is a barrier. I am geenyus.

    3. Resident Evil is Capcom's Star Wars. Really? That's the best I could do?

    4. IMHO, Resident Evil Ice Dancing would be a desirable direction for the series. This is why I am only allowed to talk about games, not make them.

    5. Darin has made the Capcom e-Store rad.

    6. When I go to Japan, I steal things.

...And other even less interesting nuggets spill from my flappy lips over the course of 8 pages. Ultimately, I say a lot about very little, which is disappointing because I love the RE series with all my black little heart and shriveled soul and add very little of interest other than this non-story. At least you've been spared the horror of listening to my speaking voice, which is almost as awful as my singing voice, which can actually paralyze the human nervous system at 20 feet. Oh, and at the very end, he tries to trick me into revealing more about Capcom E3 Mystery Game #2. Denied!

Resident Evil: Degeneration hits your JesusPhone

Tuesday, May 12, 2009, 01:42 PM [Resident Evil]

In a fit of spite, I've opted to go with the Blackberry over the iPhone and I'm pretty well pleased with my decision. Sure, my phone is not sexy and my apps are a bit behind the curve, but on the upside, I can go without charging my phone for almost three days, which is great for having too many drinks at Seven Grand every night during E3 and forgetting to plug the damn thing in. Another downside is that I will not be playing Resident Evil: Degeneration, which our pals at Capcom Mobile just unleashed for all of y'all out their with pockets fulla Apple's savior. Grab the game from iTunes for a totally reasonable $6.99.

    Here's what it's all about:

In the game, players take control of Leon S. Kennedy and an arsenal of bone-shattering weapons in order to combat a horde of zombies and horrific tyrants. Featuring high-resolution 3D graphics and intuitive context sensitive Multi-Touch controls, Resident Evil: Degeneration fully utilizes the accelerometer functionality of iPhone and iPod touch. Tilting the device will reload weapons, and a shake helps shrug off infected enemies.  Action takes place from a third-person over the shoulder perspective, and in-engine cut scenes help propel the engaging story forward.

Resident Evil 5, Street Fighter IV and Bionic Commando coming to your PC!

Friday, May 1, 2009, 01:05 PM [Resident Evil]

Although I personally am no longer a PC gamer (turns out that 7-year-old Alienware rigs don't run 2009 games that well) there are still lots and lots of you console haterz out there. Good news, Windows nerds, Capcom is finally gonna give you some love for those dual $700 3D cards you shelled out for. Starting in July, we're going to roll out Street Fighter IV and Bionic Commando on PC, followed in the fall by... wait for it... Resident Evil 5! Here's a couple of cool things for the PC versions of the games:

Street Fighter IV will be Games for Windows LIVE, which means voice chat, online matching and Achievements.

Resident Evil 5 is gonna support NVIDIA's rad new 3D LCD glasses, the GeForce 3D Vision. Majini in your face! Sheva on your lap!

Rumor has it that those with Mad Catz SFIV sticks will be able to simply plug them in to your PC and they will be recognized by Street Fighter IV. Wait, this is truth, not actually a rumor.

All games will support DX9 and DX10.

Ultra-high resolutions and wide-screen support. Laugh at console player's lowly 1080p as you crank your monitor up.

Mouse and keyboard support for all three titles, but for God's sake, go buy a gamepad with analog sticks.

Any more questions? Leave in the Comments section and I'm sure Mr. PC Gaming Alliance himself will happily answer!
