Capcom's been cranking out Resident Evil games for over 15 years now, hitting just about every possible game system since the era of PlayStation 1. We're talking random platforms, too, like the GameBoy Advance, the beloved Dreamcast, PC titles and more. I think the only opportunity we've missed was Virtual Boy, actually. IGN Retro's got everything you've ever wanted to know about the long and complex history of Resident Evil as a game series. You're not going to learn about the story, but you will pick up all kinds of insider-y information on the development history behind the games. Enjoy, this is a well-researched, mondo article on the phenom we like to call RE.
Before we forget, the first US online review of Resident Evil 5 is out and survey sez: 9 out of 10! IGN's top marks for RE5 joins high scores from the printed page from Official Xbox Magazine (90), PlayStation: The Official Magazine (5 out of 5) and the totally unofficial GamePro (90). Hopefully we'll see you Thursday night in San Francisco, when you'll finally have the chance to check it out yourself after a year of being teased by Unity.
IGN's Jessica Chobot spent an afternoon with Capcom and Just Cause checking out some of the kick-ass new mo-cap tech that was used in the creation of RE5. Chobots In Diguise managed to finagle herself into a body stocking at about the 1:47 mark, so g'head and skip past Reuben's explications and go right for teh sexorz, pervy.
Getting all antsy-pantsy 'cause RE5 is allllllmost out? IGN's got the cure for you: tons of in-depth coverage of the game that is literally days away from landing in your 360 and PS3.
