[Resident Evil]
The nutty funsters over at Minus World have put together a fun Highlights-style Resident Evil Activity Book for Children. There's a crossword puzzle (4 down: "An evil corporation), a "Diversify the Infected" coloring panel and much more. Best touch is the mailing label on the front cover, above. Fun for sarcasm-loving kids of all ages, as long as those ages are over 17.

I've always been impressed by tru fans who go the distance and forever brand themselves with a depiction of something that they love at a particular moment in time. Hopefully, 20 years later, they still love that thing, 'cause lasers hurt way more than needles and Cool Back Tat Remover has yet to be invented (although 49% of San Diego would, at some point will need to, buy that product in a heartbeat). My Google News reader recently picked up a posting from tattooed Texan Vogue, who uploaded a pic of her bf (best friend? boy friend? brilliant FARKer?) and his so-new-it's-still-bleeding Resident Evil tattoo on RateMyInk, which is a site I am now planning on spending more time on. Clearly, Vogue's bf is a hardcore fan, as this art comes from the Japanese boxart for Resident Evil: Deadly Silence, the 2006 DS remake of RE1. Man, I gotta get a copy of this game!

If you've been wanting to know more about the storyline and plot of Resident Evil 5, you could do worse than to check out the above YouTube production; It's roughly about 15% accurate. Unfortunately, I do have to go on record now as saying that, at no point during RE5 game do any of the characters actually sing along to "Welcome to the Jungle." Which is a shame, because they really should. Much like TriCell, if you got the money, honey, Capcom got your disease.

Wipe the steam from your glasses and the dribble from your keyboard. Not just random cheesecake, the superhottie above is one Julia Voth, who, amongst other model-y type things, provided the voice of Jill Valentine in Resident Evil 0, the Gamecube prequel REMAKE. Kinda gives you a whole new perspective on the game, doesn't it? Julia also happens to be an IGN Babe of the Day, so check out more pictures of her ahoy. Just don't let your boss/signficant other/sex therapist catch you.
Updated with correct RE game, because I am stupid, as helpfully pointed out in the comments.

[Resident Evil]
Don't get me wrong: I love the Resident Evil series (especially the first one, outta nostalgia) and I think know that RE5 is gonna CRUSH when it's released on Friday the 13th next year. But I was a bit puzzled and a smidge underwhlemed that the early versions of the game still controlled much like RE4, which was still based around a lot of legacy control issues that stem from the series origins on PSOne and (shudder) GameCube. We did begin hinting back in July during E3 that the team was addressing the control scheme of the game, which I think was drowned out a bit in the overall awesomeness festival that was RE5 playable. In a sea of greatness, sometimes the little bits float away, after all. That said, Takeuchi-san, co-producer on RE5, hinted during a Microsoft-flavored press event in Japan earlier this week that RE4 will definitely have some control surprises come TGS. The phrase "Gears-like" may have been bandied about in Japanese, as well. Gamedaily had the similar reaction to this news that I did, expressing fulfillment of the desire for "... something new to go along with the gorgeous and fresh looking graphics and new (at least for Resident Evil) co-op mode."
