Ask Capcom Round-Up: Heavy on HD Remix

Nov 07, 2008 // Snow

For those of you new here, all these questions come right from you, the fans. You can ask them here, in our Ask Capcom forum . We take the time to answer your questions as best as possible, and give you as much info as we can without getting in trouble. We’ll gather some of the questions every now and then for a re-cap, and who knows, maybe we’ll use your question! Alright, let’s get into the stuff you asked about recently.

AlbofighterHey guys, I know hd remix is coming out soon, but I was wondering if you’re going to add trophy support.

Sven – To set expectations, they will not be at launch. Beyond that, we’re still exploring.

RyanDo we get SFIIHDREMIX at the same time? (PS3 / 360)

Sven – It’s submitted on both platforms but not approved on either yet so we’ll have to see. Fingers crossed.

Ryu vs Ken When this month is SSF2THD Remix coming out?

Sven – As soon as we have approved code on both platforms, I’ll let you all know. In fact, it’ll be broadcast from the highest tower in the kingdom. You won’t be able to miss the news.

Ryu vs Ken How long does the approval process usually take?

Sven – Depends on the territory and the time of year/how busy the submissions team is. It also depends on territories.

SCEA and MS can turn things around in 5-7 days most times. SCEE is closer to two weeks but they have a system where you can see the progress and bugs as they’re testing (which means, you can anticipate your pass or fail and potentially be ready to have a resubmission ready to go when you fail). That said, you generally want to get reports from SCEA and SCEE, fix all issues and resubmit to both at the same time so it’s not always such a benefit easy. SCAsia is a bit easier on the submission side as their evaluation focuses mostly on the material submisisons, not on code approval (provided you have code approval from SCEA or SCEE).

So when you fail out, it generally takes a few days to turn a new build. We tend to then put that new candidate back through our test groups for 48 hours and if it comes out clean/addressing the issues (without introducing new issues, which can and does happen) then it gets turned back in. In short, it’s usually about five to six days after a fail report before you’re resubmitted and the process begins again.

So to reiterate, if you don’t pass, it’s usually another two weeks minimum before you could possibly have approval (and that’s assuming you don’t bounce a second time). I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… digital submissions are even more difficult than physical submission. There’s more TRCs/TCRs to worry about getting hung up on.

miguel – Will Dead Rising come to PC?

Sven Sorry, but there are no plans for a PC version of dead rising. 🙁

SpawN Uhm, how do I add a forum signature? I want text under my message, how do I arrange that? I’ve been checking around but I can’t figure out how to do it. 🙁

Sven Forum preferences link at the bottom of every forum list.

supremebeing87What’s the point system? What are Lifetime Points?

Snow – Points will have many uses. One that ties into it is badges, which we’re asking for your thoughts on. Check it out here, and post your ideas! Soon we’ll have some very cool things for you to do with all the points you’ve collected.

Dubindoh Have you guys announced Dark Void for a Japanese release?

Sven – Plans could change, but there are no plans for a Japanese release at the moment.

TendersauceJust wondering if there was an interest in the recent 2d bionic commando art style/engine for a possible Megaman 10 game?

s-kill – No plans for something like this right now, though it sounds like kind of an interesting MM/MML hybrid…
