By now we’ve all watched the jaw-dropping ” Evo Moment #37 ” video a dozen times or so, in which Daigo Umehara successfully parries a series of attacks to win a decisive round in Street Fighter III. It’s undeniably awesome (in the most literal sense of the word) and has gone on to become one of the most watched moments in competitive gaming history.

Plenty has been written about this feat already, but today Penny Arcade offers this new dissection of the event and our own Seth Killian explains what exactly was going on in that brief, legendary moment.
