MMLC 3DS Collector’s Edition and release date revealed

Nov 12, 2015 // Kellen Haney

Have you ever seen a golden Mega Man before? Well, okay, maybe in Mega Man X3, but we’ve got a mega-treat for you today – Mega Man Legacy Collection is not only getting a physical edition in North America, coming to retail shelves for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo 3DS on February 23rd, 2016, but there’s also a very special Collector’s Edition for the Nintendo 3DS on the way, too!

Packed in with each copy of the Mega Man Legacy Collection Collector’s Edition is a gold Mega Man amiibo, ready to be lovingly placed on your 3DS. “But why would I do that?” I hear you asking with your inquisitive tone and slightly tilted head.

Using either the original or new gold Mega Man amiibo with the Nintendo 3DS version of Mega Man Legacy Collection will unlock eleven fan-made challenges (from this challenge contest ) – and that’s on top of the existing challenges already jam-packed into the game! Whether you’re planning to pick up the Collector’s Edition, retail 3DS, or digital 3DS version – there are also now more than one hundred new items in the in-game Museum such as classic game advertisements from the late 80s and early 90s, images of the original box art and cart art designs for your viewing pleasure. If you’re not a 3DS owner, don’t fret, though – we have some goodies for you no matter which retail version of the game you pick up:

Nintendo 3DS Standard Edition ($29.99 USD)
Comes with a physical copy of the full game, two Nintendo 3DS Mega Man themes, a soundtrack sample containing eighteen songs from Mega Man 1 through 6, and four Mega Man stickers!

Nintendo 3DS Collector’s Edition ($49.99 USD)
Includes everything in the standard edition, plus a set of six Mega Man postcards and the exclusive gold Mega Man amiibo!

Xbox One and PlayStation 4
Includes the full game on disc, as well as a Robot Master cheat sheet, a soundtrack sample containing eighteen songs from Mega Man 1 through 6, and four Mega Man stickers!

We’ve got some fresh screens of the 3DS version for you, too:

Don’t forget, Mega Man Legacy Collection is also available for digital download right now on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC for $14.99 USD, and will be available as a digital download on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS on February 23rd.
