Pair of RE Revelations interviews sheds light on what might have been

Mar 08, 2012 // Minish Capcom

IGN recently had a chance to talk with Resident Evil Revelations producer Masachika Kawata and director Koshi Nakanishi – but the results weren’t typical interview fare. Instead, one post focuses on Revelations’ cutting room floor, offering up a glimpse of features and ideas that didn’t quite make it into the game.

For example, the game wasn’t always going to take place on an isolated ship:

“One early idea was to have the virus-ridden ship arriving at a port at the beginning of the game, with the action kicking off in the port area. We ended up using the ship as the main setting, but remnants of that early concept can be found in the Terragrigia and mountain sections of the game.” – Masachika Kawata
