Am I the only one that will find it pretty hilarious if it does in fact turn out to be a exclusive or at the least timed exclusive?
It would be pretty amusing not seeing Capcom hold true to their promise.
Still... this scenario with making exclusive announcements on XBLM reflects that they want to create the illusion of it being exclusive to the xbox 360.
....which yet again displays that Capcom shows a priority on the 360 than including both platforms.
- Why do you care? Are you against others to play the game?
I really don't understand why Capcom doesn't just make games for every other console and handheld device except the playstation brand.
- B-But y-you said.
They lied about DMC4 being exclusive to the PS3.
You want that Capcom would make DMC just to the PS3 but you also want all games to come to all consoles?
Perhaps less understood, I am not from Japan or something English country so my English is not as good as yours. :'(
I'm from sweden btw.
Yes. You don't understand completely... Just like the moderator above this post.
I am indicating that CAPCOM has lied in the past. So it would be hard to believe their words from now on because of so many lies and decision changing.
I would like as many people to play DMC as possible. It is one of my favourite series. I'd like it to be bigger and popular than what is big and popular today.
I never said that I wanted Capcom to make DMC for the PS3 only. Never. I repeat, what I mean is that they said it would be for PS3 only, and it wasn't. So why should I believe them when they say that all their games will be multiplatform?
I think they need to take a step back, think before they speak, and then make statements and/or announcements.
Ah, I think I understand. But I do not think Capcom is against the PS3. Only the Micrsoft, you will appreciate, pay very good money to get good games to 360.
If it would give you $ 500,000, not safe to pay them so jaja, to get a Timexklusiv game, would not you do it?
This is just temporary and the game coming to PS3 in any case. But it is easy for me to say, I got a 360 and I hate exclusive stuff.
This is really awkward. Seriously, LP2 being exclusive makes no sense. First, Capcom announces it's so-called "multiplataform strategy" and then comes and makes this, even though they announced Dead Rising 2 as a multiplataform game?
So I wonder, is the game an actual exclusive or it's just the marketing that's exclusive for now (which does make sense, since the actual majority of the fans of the first game are the ones that bought it on the 360.)? And if the former is the case, what made Capcom do an 180 on it's strategy and go back to exclusives? Not moneyhatting, I hope.
Maybe I'm just an idiot, maybe I really am, but I do not understand what's confusing and what's complicated:
Really, this can go in THREE directions, and ONLY three:
1. Microsoft has paid for timed exclusive for both 360 and PC, PS3 will come last. This is probably the bittersweet scenario, since the PS3 won't miss any DLC (afaik Sony doesn't accept porting without added content), but the port itself will be dump.
2. Microsoft paid for some exclusive DLC plus the exclusivity of the advertisement campaign, just like it happened with GTAIV. The porting will be decent but no DLC whatsoever for the PS3. Well, always better than TRU and Fallout 3. Both were half-assed ports with no DLC.
3. They're somehow trying to find an agreement for the full exclusivity of the game. Once they do, they'll announce it, probably at E3. If they do not, one of the options above will happen.
Oh, the third option is not really worth that much. Resident Evil 4 docet.

Well, they risk losing half of potential sales, half of the worldwide slaes of DMC4 and SFIV come from the PS3, which is much more than what MS would be willing to pay for exclusive status (even a timed exclusive runs the risk of losing half of potential sales as fans refuse to buy a game that is a year old port, Bioshock, Lost Planet 1).

I disagree that those are the three only options, but they are quite plausible. However, TRU WAS NOT a half-assed port on the PS3. It ran at a higher resolution on the PS3 in fact!
Wow. I didn't know moderators at an offcial CAPCOM forum board would throw around smart ass comments like that. I just would expect little one liner comments like, "Ohhhhh. Dayum!" or "PWND" or "GOOD ONE" from two bit websites or fan websites.
It just wasn't expected. But now I know what to expect from this site.
Ah yes Im sorry I did it as a friendly joke no Offence Intended
Having a laugh some times helps claim the mood.
But at the moment it is a wait and see job about which consoles it will be on just give it time and it shall show its self soon

Personally I'd love to see Capcom "go for it" and make Lost Planet 2 exclusive.
It would put them in an even more shakey relationship then they've got with the PS3 fanbase (already, since the DMC4 affair) trying to save their own **** with PR to justify their move.
Its just the way Capcom boogies.
I dont get why they try to hide their inate preference for the 360, just say "we're going 360. Period". Instead of making things or pull out damage controlling PR ("we're going multi from now") like this to upset a part of the gaming community.
Its hilarious... Capcom prides themselves to be listening to their fanbase and yet they pull out stunts like these which contradict themselves.
It feels more like a provocation rather than a good will atempt to please their fans.
