Improving radar, much easier. When you see that it is an enemy, you can jump to the left, right in do not care to avoid to be killed. :/
That would be a really bad idea. People would just watch their radar all the time and go to the enemy as soon as they appear on the radar. It would mean that you wouldn't have a chance of escaping if you were surrounded by the enemy and you couldn't sneak around if you are close to the enemy.
Half of what makes LP fun it the way you traverse the environment and if this change was made, it would encourage people to camp.
sorry if this has already been posted - but I am betting it hasnt been - I didnt notice it on the trailer of course but I would like to see a different button assignment for entering a VS and for removing / attaching weapons to a VS - cant tell you how many times I am running to grab a VS while about to die try to jump in it - only to end up with a cumbersome pile driver in my hands
To NOT want a boot system just seems...well...Like you're part of the problem, Not the solution. (IMO)
You can't argue that a boot system isn't...needed for any game. Yes, it would be good - but who's to decide the 'level' of power someone has? If we let the host have all the power, then he'll just boot people he doesn't like/more skilled, etc. If we let players vote, then friends will just boot people they don't like.
Lost Planet's community is fine the way it is. The only thing that needs to be changed is auto-kicking lag switchers and people with horrible connections. Also you CAN'T really do a 'replay' stage/map because not everyone wants to stay in a room, but if it automatically took you to lobby and let the host reset the settings, which allows the same players to be in the same room and whoever wants to leave, can leave (ala private match settings) would be great.
The game isn't about playing with players they PREFER to play with. It's about playing with everyone, whether you like them or not. If there was a boot system, you would almost NEVER see Japanese/Chinese players in American rooms (sometimes I wish I had the power to kick one of them here and there tho...) or maybe vice versa (we know every nationality has a racism towards another when gathered in groups).
A boot system on any game get's misused, case in point i was playing a game the other day a guy named blue Laser was pwning everyone, this guy was amazing. he got booted, the majority of people in that game voted to have him kicked. so to say that this would not happen in Lp2 if they had a similar system is a bit naive. i was playing left4dead the other day and i got kicked for no reason. It happens all the time. it's not needed in lp2. The Lost planet community is one of the best on Live. I've never encountered any people who would make me turn the game off. if you've played gears or halo 3, some of the people in those games are mad annoying. just mute people if they irritate you problem solved

boot system in ranked i would say no, but i would not mind a option like local only match or some kind of setting for quality of internet to join match.

Any host who bans players for being a higher rank will quickly find themselves with empty lobbies.

Absolutely correct, +1000 James. Those who are looking to abuse the current system usually join games, they don’t host them. There is good reason for that. --- --- xRippleEffect said:

It’s easy to determine the level of power in a game. The host having the power to kick those who he chooses from the game is solely his/her prerogative, tempered by the fact that if they are not a level headed host they will not be able to fill a room as James already mentioned. I agree that voting doesn’t work, there is no way for the host to keep control of the room.
Auto kicking lag switchers doesn’t work, and there are some solid technical reasons why it won’t given how UDP works, since you inevitably throw the baby out with the bathwater in those cases. To think this could be easily automated indicates a lack of understanding of the scope of the issue. I agree that player match replays would be an elegant solution in ranked as they are implemented in LPEC.
I have to say that I feel exactly the opposite about preference. IMO gaming is about playing with people you prefer, and I believe evidence suggests this, otherwise Microsoft would not have implemented XBLF’s, to give one example. Your thought of playing with everyone whether you like it or not goes contrary to the very idea of gaming for entertainment purposes, it sounds like your are trying to apply the idea of work to a leisure activity. If you get kicked from a game for whatever reason it’s certainly within your power to start a match yourself. As far as country kicking goes, do you really want to play a game with someone that has that attitude anyway? It’s almost as if some think the worst of hosts and are the most optimistic about players.
