If you were jealous that we got our greasy, unworthy hands on a 4-player co-op demo of Lost Planet 2 during our ransacking of E3 2009, you can now cool your jets -- according to producer Jun Takeuchi during an appearance on Famitsu's "Midnight Live 360," the same demo is coming to Xbox Live "soon." Actually, Takeuchi's exact words were, "soon, I guess," a sentiment that doesn't exactly fill us with optimism regarding the actual soon-ness of the demo's release.

Takeuchi showcased a number of new features during the Famitsu program, such as computer-controlled bots, custom weapon sets and character customization, which he explained can be done using items you unlock in tandem with certain achievements. We don't know whether any of these features will be present in the demo -- but if it's as similar to the E3 demo as Takeuchi says, it should be radical enough without them.

Awesome!! Not many people online at late hour? Put some bots. Your internet is out for like 2 months (happened to me!)? Put some bots!! I am glad they are implementing this.

I hope since they are not in extreme conditions anymore that t-eng don't consume so quickly. I know they need to strike a balance, but I also don't want the process to be underwhelming, like you spend four minutes collecting t-eng and you get one minute of VS usage.

Anybody knows why a fan is used to comically hit people in the head in Japanese culture?

"soon i guess" doesnt make me very hopeful..

putting a co-op demo out now, and putting a multiplayer demo out about a month before game release will get people into and excited about the game.

That's exactly what i've been thinking all a long. As soon as the demos come out, i won't be playing LP1 anymore lol. I'll be playing those demos 24/7.

Sorry to ruin the fun, but they are talking about the campaign. It's been known for awhile. The campaign is designed around a four man squad, so if you don't have all the guys then the computer will fill in the rest. But this does mean they took the time to make the tech, so I can imagine it could be in multiplayer too.

Why would you want them to release a multiplayer demo just 1 month before the game?

I want them to release a multiplayer demo now so that they can test the network and reduce any lag for the final game. I also want to see the party system or matchmaking system they come up with sooner rather than later so that i can bombard snow with feedback Wink

That's called a beta Wink. If they were to release a co-op multiplayer demo I would think it would be one month prior to launch. If there were to release another demo (competitive multiplayer) than I would think it would be released one week before launch and last a little while after launch.

Dammit, you are right Frown but like you said since there is the tech I hope there are bots in multiplayer, too.
