"Why this game is worth buying"
buy it? I'll be honest, I'm more than glad I spent $40 on Resident Evil 4. This game re-defines the series in my opinion, and can be an exciting game for anyone willing to try it. Incase some of you dont know, Capcom in addition to making the Resident Evil series as well as many other games also produced all 4 Devil May Cry games. If you enjoyed any one of those, but have never played Resident Evil, I can guarantee you'll like RE4. I say this only because I myself am a very avid Devil May Cry player, and I saw alot of that series in this installment of the RE series. Mainly in the puzzle solving, sometimes corny but fun cutscenes that dont drag on too long, the nonstop action in boss fights, and most of all, the creativity involved in each and every fight. RE4 gives you full control over what you do in battle, and the variety of options you have make it even better
the left analog stick and shake free or stab him/her. In addition to fully interactive fighting, the environment is also at your disposal to some extent. There are boxes and barrels that can be broken throughout the game, either with a weapon or your knife. They typically contain money (yes, money), ammo, a healing item of some sort, a key item, or a treasure (yes, treasure!). You can dive through windows, kick down doors, and you can even kick down ladders you just climbed to keep the enemy at bay. The best part of the gameplay are the interactive CUTSCENES. Yep, thats right. Every play Metal Gear Solid 3? If not, let me fill you in. In the majority of the cutscenes, you could press whichever button flashed on the screen for a certain effect. The outcome varied from seeing a ghost with a message to checking out the sexy female spy. In RE4, you have the option (its more of a necessity) to press certain combinations of buttons when prompted to. You'll die if you dont, I can guarantee it. They'll be to dodge, duck, run, swim, whatever, but in CUTSCENES! This forces you to pay attention as well as gives you a greater sense of involvement in the plot. Lastly, I'm sure you're wondering about the money and treasure I mentioned finding earlier in the review. Shortly after starting the game, you run across a shady guy with an odd accent and glowing red eyes. His whereabouts are marked on the map, but you'll immediately know its him by the bright blue torches he surrounds his encampments with. You'll also feel at ease when you see him, because it almost always means a typewriter (save point), new weapons of course, and a monster free zone (or at least almost monster free). Other than that, there are no explanations here, just a dude with LOTS of guns. You use the money you find to purchase bigger atache cases (inventory), guns, add-ons for certain guns such as a scope for the rifle, and tune ups for your guns. By tuneups I mean the option is available to increase firing power, bullet capacity per round, reload time in seconds, and firing speed. Over time, more and more tune-up options are available to you as well as guns. The vast majority of your weapons come from the merchant, except for your default handgun and the first shotgun you acquire. He'll also buy your ammo/herbs/items, although he himself sells no ammo. Treasures you find that arent key items are typically your largest source of income through selling them to the merchant. The combine option you're given allows you not only to combine herbs into powerful medicines, but combine your weapon parts (scope + rifle) and certain treasures to increase their worth. For example, if you find a lamp and when examined it says it has three indentations where something could fit, see what treasures you find and try to combine them.Sometimes, they will in fact combine, and sell for more as a unified item then they would individually. i l♥ve resident evil
