I'm going to try to keep everyone updated with all of the information I am able to find about the Lost Planet movie. I know it will be a few years (estimated February 2011) until it comes out or most of the good tidbits will be revealed, but I'll post everything I can. Yes, I am that excited about it.
It's Super Official!!!
Capcom had an awesome press conference talking about how big of a deal the Lost Planet movie will be. They aren't messing around with this. Even if I wasn't one of the biggest fans of Lost Planet; I'm sure I would realize they aren't pulling any stops, and that this movie will be HUGE.
I'm sure a lot of fans and people are disappointed about their press conference only being about the Lost Planet movie, but I'd say it was somewhat expected. E3 isn't what it used to be, and Capcom has Comic-Con coming up (along with other events later in the year). Capcom made a bold decision this time around, and I'm sure that it was a good one. Think of it as more proof that they are set to make decent movies of their franchises.
It's Official!
GameSpot has a story from E3 confirming that Capcom has signed a deal with Warner Bros. for production to begin on a Lost Planet: Extreme Condition movie! David Hayter is indeed writing the script. That's all the news for now... but it is awesome news!
Lost Planet: Extreme Condition Laser Cel
Back in December 2006, if you were to reserve Lost Planet: Extreme Condition at different locations, you had a chance of receiving a limited edition Laser Cel. So, basically what I did was reserve it everywhere and get all the different ones I could. Here are the three I have. I think there is one other one that was released in the UK that I could never find. And, I think Snow has one that don't...
Lost Planet: Extreme Condition Art Book
Lucky residents of Japan are able to purchase what I would consider one of the greatest books ever. The Lost Planet: Extreme Condition Art Book. I found one on eBay recently, and I couldn't pass up the chance to own one. After receiving it in the mail and looking through it, I can definitely agree with the first sentence of this blog.
I took some pictures of different features in the book for everyone to see. Hopefully, it will entice you to get your own. Maybe someone who can read Japanese can translate all of the interviews. There are a lot of interviews about vital suits, characters, and even multiplayer maps. I'm sure it's really interesting stuff. For now, look at the pictures here.
