Lol Roll Tier! I`ve never played this MvC, only the first 1 a little, so I`m on my way to pull up some videos with people using her. She can`t be that bad can she? And are characters' ability to do long combos the main reason these tiers even exist? Sorry for my quite obvious noobish/borderline dumb questions

No, the tier list is based on the character's overall value to a team. If it's about combos, then Iron Man would be God Tier as well, because his infinity is the easiest to execute.

Roll is DEFINITELY worse than Servbot and Dan. Atleast they have SOMETHING useful if you dig deep, but Roll doesn't. She's also a VERY watered down version of Mega Man.

O ok thanks. In games like HD Remix and stuff, tiers are based of character matchups. But this game is quite unique because combos are such a big part, and also because there are teams. So I just needed to know how they were placed. Wouldn't a character with an easy infinite be more valuable to your team as well though? Oh yea I forgot about the assists that characters do. I'm sure they're rated based off those too

I never understood why Cable is God tier.. He's great and all, but I believe he's Top Tier at best. If it's about abusing meters and his AAA, then Cyclops should be God Tier too. I also believe Hayato needs to be a bit higher. I haven't seen many matches with people that actually know how to use him. Akuma and Ken should be a bit more higher too.

He's at the bottom of the Big 4, and does suck without meter, but AHVB really does count for a lot. Have meter...will kill dudes. Doesn't matter if an incoming character (i.e. the preceding character died, and the next one is jumping in) is blocking or not, good Cables will find ways to surely land the AHVB from there.

He has a really good and annoying assist as well (B or anti-air, the electric spear thing).

Every character has an infinity and most of them can only be executed on Sentinel, which is fine because of his great defenses. The most common infinite would be Iron Man's, which is really the only one you need to worry about. Magneto too on rare occassions.

Like most run-away characters. Cyclops really does a better job at that.. :B

lol @ some of ur responses.

1. Roll is that bad and no she dosen't have any type of potential.

2. Cable is teh ****. ANY cable user can perfom an ublockable.

3. It's called infinite not ifinity (noobs lol)

4. And no iron man is not best character in the game one on one

if u guys have any questions just let me know i'll be more then glad to answer them.

What's an ifinity? XD

And I didn't say Iron Man is the best, I just said his infinity (or infinite if you'll get butthurt about it) is the easiest to do.

Don't get me wrong, I love using Cable. I just think he's not God Tier material.

I don't believe in such a thing as the best character 1v1.  There are matchups for a reason.

For example, the last time at the arcade, I played someone who was around my skill level.

My Cable beat any of his characters, other than Sentinel.

My Dr. Doom beat any of his characters, other than Cable.

My Colossus beat any of his characters, period.  However, he could not beat all 3 in the same match, xD.  He'd take heavy damage against his Cable and Sentinel.

So I had a steady switchup ready whenever he would switch out a character.

Anyways, a good Strider could be considered the best.  A good Magneto or Storm could as well.  There's no single best character, because matchups mean everything when the player skill is the same.
