yeah the xbox360 version can easily play any music while playing the game. but PS3 is stuck with whatever the game has slapped in there. and we all know MvC2 has the worst music in fighting game history (well videogame history.) so is Capcom gonna remedy this?
I think they should have an alternate soundtrack packed in featuring classic themes from Capcom games, as well as original themes too. kind of like how HD Remix had two different soundtracks, but in MVC2's case, the extra soundtrack would be completely different, better and more suited for fighting than what MvC2 ended up with.

Some games on the playstation 3 allow you to play your own music in the background when your playing a game.
Street fighter 4 lets you do this when playing offline.
Marvel vs Capcom2 also lets you. The demo let you so im assuming the real game will as well.
Just hit the PS button during the game and select what music from your hard drive you want to listen to. |

This remake will receive a new makeover and Capcom says the soundtrack is going to be much different. It's also going to be free of charge so it can be easily downloaded - so they say. As for the gaming while listening to music, I'm not sure.

Yes you can game while listening to music, it works on the demo. The music is the only thing that gets swapped out, you'll still hear your "HADOUKEN!," sound effects and the announcer, only the music changes. You can use music already saved to your hard drive or you can arrange the songs you want on a Playlist and use that. Thread I created that details what some of us are doing. My MVC2 Playlist is ready to go, finalized my list on page 2. ^_^ |

I'm just curious if this feature will work with online play(as opposed to SF4).

Yeah for SF4 it doesn't work for online play. Though SF4 is music is good IMHO so it's no big, I always play with the game's original music and have no complaints. Capcom along with the whole world knows MVC2's music is... shall we say limited/effy LOL so just have a little faith that they will try to come up with something. |

I have faith that they will give us some good music for FREE, but who knows if the custom tracks will make it out when the game does (when is that again?). Just kidding, but if your worried about the music, go check Sano's thread page 2 for his MvC2 playlist. |
