I'm aware it's the awesome box with the nes cartridge with a CD inside it, but is there anything else? And what exactly is on the CD? |

Nope, those are the only things in it. On the disc are a few gameplay pictures and a couple Robot Master pictures (nothing you can't find online, but still neat).

The special kits are always worth it, especially when it's all free!

lol, I wonder how many people actually took theirs out of the shrink-wrap. I'm definitely not opening mine, then I wouldn't have that price tag!

I opened my Press Kit up, I open all my Megaman stuff regardless of rarity, plus I was curious to see if it would fit in my Nes

I opened mine. It didn't have the price tag, so I figured I could just shrink wrap it later if I needed to. The only thing I didn't touch was the disc, both because it's easy to find it's data on the internet, and because I'm worried that it's too small for any of my machines and that they'd eat it. And yes, I also put the cartridge in my NES which is still hooked up to my old as **** TV.

I hate the fact that only 200 of these things were made, but thats nothing, the gold famicon cartridges that were given to the winners of the robot master contest are in my opinion the rarest, mainly because 8 exist. I myself open almost all my Megaman merchendise, and I also keep the Japanese Megaman merchendise boxes and plastic covers. Heck, if I got one of the Press Kits I would open it, but not if it was the one signed by Inafune himself. |

They said that there were more than 200 made. They had to fill orders that exceeded the initial 200. And considering how long it took them to fill all the orders (kudos to them for filling them all eventually) I'd agree that there were well over 200 filled; probably somewhere in the 300 range. There's no reason for them to lie about how many were made. Whether or not we'll ever know the exact number is still up in the air. John, Sven, and crew never said they'd never tell us the exact number made. Now my theory was that there were well over a thousand kits made originally, but I suspect something like the Atari ET cartridge conspiracy happened to about 800 of those kits. Once they realized MM9 was going to be a success and people would pay exhorbitant amounts for the kits, they had to go back to the dump site and restore some kits. Unfortunately they could only get about 100 back in perfect condition. That's why it took them so long originally to get them out to the people that ordered. ;) |

Actually they're way more then a 100 extra press kits. I remember someone asked capcom how many extra kits were made and they said about 1,000. That's why it took so long. they had to make much more then they expected. |

Weird, I wasn't aware there were that many. That makes a lot more sense though now considering how long it took etc. |
