Well, with all these StarForce releases, I'm really, REALLY starting to miss good 'ol Megaman. His last appearance was Megaman 9... and chances are, he won't be around ever again once that gets old.
Yeah, sure, ZX was OK, but... IMO, it was just a bunch of reject characters that Capcom tried to get players to come to know and love. MegaMan never had much of a real personality, but he had a lot of great games that people love to go back and play. Sure, more could've been done for the little blue guy, but the games alone were very addicting and hard to put down. With the latter games that have been released, I just don't feel that same attachment.
They tried to reintroduce good 'ol Megaman sidescrolling with ZX and ZX:Advent, which I'll have to admit I did enjoy ZXA... save for the lack of storyline and sorta-ok voice-acting.
What to you all think? Is anyone besides me missing the Blue Bomber's glory days? |

I'm not quite sure what you mean by the ZX series bringing back sidescrolling. If we do the general assumption that Battle Network and Star Force are in a different timeline/reality/whatever, then all of the games between Mega Man 1 to Mega Man ZX Advent were sidescrollers, except for X7. DASH takes place after all of those, if I remember correctly. In fact, aside from the aforementioned deviant in the X series, and of course the non-numbered ones (eg: Command Mission, Battle & Chase, etc.), DASH, Exe, and Ryuusei were the only series that didn't do sidescrolling as their main point. Although, I will give my opinions on the voice acting in ZXA and Star Force 3: it's kind of nice to have it, compared to usually ... NOT having it. Whoever did the voice for Geo on SF3, though, sounds a bit ... okay, so to me it sounds like he's either in pain, or a kung-foo movie when he screams before the NFBs. >_> PS: Ohhh, my head is dizzy. I have got to stick with either the english series names or the japanese ones. Going back and forth gives me a headache. :P |

Dying out? Not really. Being given a small break? Mostly. Other than StarForce, and the new cross over BattleNetwork, the other series are being given a break. They cannot maintain the course they have been and keep freash ideas. It is for the benifit of the franchise. This way we get better quality. Be it returning to a series or making a new series. Classic timeline is the only portion with the break. BN/SF is still strong.

Hmm, guess I just don't hear much hype about it... especially amongst schoolmates. Out of the 2000+ kids at my high school, less than about 40+ know who Megaman is, even less like him. :( |

There is more. It may be simply regarded as a guilty pleasure.

I have no shame in saying I'm a Megaman fan. Sheez, if I had his armor, even if it was made out of styrofoam, I'd friggin' wear it like, everyday. xD; |
