To assist with what Neo has stated:

If both Reploid Souls and Cyber Elfs are bodies of energy, and we know that energy can not be destroyed but transformed, does that mean that for example, Iris or any other dead reploid, is still "operational" in cyber space?

To follow what Neo already stated. Within Cyberspace, there is something that can be considered as the Abyss. The Flow of Data can be violent to Small Programs that are not strong enough to withstand the flow. If they cannot, they are simply recycled into the Flow of CyberSpace, which effectively is a reference to the Akashic Records.

Only those Cyber Elf's possessing enough 'Will' are capable of withstanding the Data Flow. Iris was operational for a while, but she dissipated into the Data Flow long before the connection to Cyberspace, and thus Cyber El's was ever established.

What if there is a reploid who, is homosexual?

Really? A reploid, harboring no Mammal intuitive, being homosexual? No. First, (**** sapiens) is Human based. Meaning, it does not translate into mechanical terms. Secondly, reploids possess emotional genders. Not actual, meaning they don't produce pheromones. Meaning, no attraction can take place. So, in thts case, there is no 'what if'.

That is your opinion of the character. Not the actual standpoint of the character, thus it is rhetorical and cannot be used. Plus being a reploid, it doesn't apply.

Homosexual reploids????, .. I find it possible, if by a mistake a female body of a reploid gets  a male program , or viceversa, a male body gets a female reploid program.........................

1. although not exactly life-altering this extra info enrichens the Mega experience.

2. Zero is always the coolest, that's it.

3. do you think gender was incorporated for funtion; or by the (robot) designer's preferance. and do you think there is a correlation between appearance and funtion? eg. does Sigma have to be bigger to be stronger? do  chics have to be navigator's, or could they fight as well as they do in x8?

I'll just point out that I knew I was being more serious than most other threads here seems to be, and that I thought a different point of view; trying to apply real-world logics, dynamics and technology to a game that WOULD actually be a perfectly plausible prediction of our future. At the rhythm and direction our technology in artificial intelligence, robotics, war technology and everything else is already taking, it's unlikely but possible. We're talking of giving sets of ethics and morals to autonomous war machines that fight so that human soldiers won't have to risk their lives as much, and about other autonomous, self learning robots that are aware enough to escape their secure testing environment and end up in the institute's driveway.

And, as much as I dearly love Capcom and all their games, their translators for the Mega Man X games have the attention spans of gnats, which means that just about every important plot point in one game goes to wherever X stuffs his old weapons, at the very least in the english version. (Rather offending points are the recurrent betrayals just about everyone new ends up pulling on Zero and X, and yet by the time Mr. I'll-reverse-my-name-no-one-will-suspect-me does it, they're still as "Oh no, why did you betray us!?" as if it's a novel and sad action they've never had to deal with again. And with the Doppler, Gate and Lumine track records, it's a wonder they still produce Reploids smarter than a ten-years-old.)

Actually, it's a design choice, believe it or not! X was created when Zero was deemed unsuitable to get the hero spot, because he was too different to the original Mega Man. As such, X had to be one thing, a hero. And traditionally, heroes that have to bear the burden of storytelling have to always be on the high moral ground. Justice will prevail, defend the innocent, keep the peace, kill the bad guys. That severely limits X's characterization when he's entirely the Good Guy archetype, and he pretty much has to be virtuous, not like what he's doing and yet do it for the sake of the people he protects because he understands that necessity. ...In practice, though, the saintly hero character type falls flat on his face.

THIS IS A JOKE.

The truthiest of truths about Reploids: Sigma wants to drill X and Zero for oil, Axl has a typical hero-crush on X, Zero and X are a little too personal with eachother, and Lumine was created solely to catter to a shotacon/lolicon fetish on 21XX's equivalent of the chans. Double wants to have some time alone in the dark with X, oh, and before I forget, just because someone calls their best friend a pretty boy they are so gay for them.

This below, however, isn't a joke.

Actually, transsexuality wouldn't apply to Reploids. Transsexuality is the belief that one's inner gender doesn't match their outward appearance, and most transsexual try to correct that. For a Reploid, that would be as simple as taking an afternoon off after scheduling with a mechanic to have a body alteration to turn it into the "gender" that would fit them.

You might be thinking of crossdressing, which is just wearing clothes that typically don't match oneself's gender. Crossdressing is about breaking gender norms and/or fetishizing wearing clothing representative of the opposite sex, and doesn't carry out any sort of urge or denial of the crossdresser's original gender.

The ad's at the top do cause slowdown within the flash integrated forum properties. Notice it may take a bit for the loading cursor to stop. And when you reply, it pops up with the post portion, but if you let it load, it switches to a condensed version. Or if you hit the 'Stop Loading' button when most of the forum is visible, it will switch. That may be what is up.

Initially, it was just X. And X's body analyzed data and blueprints led to Sigma. The First Reploid. After that, gender was utilized to separate core functions within reploids so humans can differentiate between their charges.

Sigma was the First reploid, with the most enhanced circuitry Cain devised and was to become the Hunter Leader. Thus he would have to have mass and power to back up his enforcement. His size fits his charge.

For the most part, the females seem to be the reploids whom mostly work with data, analyzing, Navigators, research, etc. Exceptions apply obviously, as Doppler and Gate. Doppler created Doppler Town, and the first known Anti-Virus program (not including the placebo). Gate worked as a researcher and created the first modern un-analyzable reploids... Whom were seen as a threat and force executed. Case of X3 and X6.

And Cinnamon and Mariono... The females have smaller designes. To accomodate their knowledge portion charges... Or to be more 'stealthy' for espionage. Case of Command Mission.

Genders seem to be from a bias perceptive... But within the mechanical roles, they do fit within the X Universe. So best answer is: Preference.

Honestly... I think it was just put in to give variety to the Reploid race... I doubt they were caring about genders in general, more just to show they are alive and living and populating the earth, showing growth and how they are evolving past humans.
