NOTICE:
There will be no more updates to this post, aside from the English release date once this game is released in Japan. I intend to keep this post as spoiler-free as possible. I would advise not reading posts in this thread that are on page 7 and beyond if you plan to avoid spoilers.

Compilation of all currently known and confirmed changes, as well as General Information:

General Information:
- This game is for the Nintendo DS.
- No Wi-Fi battling.
- Local Wi-Fi minigame. You use Subaru/Geo, EXE, or Blues/Protoman in order to attack and collect stars from other players (or in a different mode, work together against Forte/Bass). Points collected from this minigame can be exchanged for certain things in the actual game.

Gameplay changes:
- Internet layout and graphics appear to be the same, but a map has been added.
- Combat adjustments from later games in the series: 10 battlechips maximum displayed in the custom screen instead of 15, and only 5 copies of the same battlechip in the same folder (with perhaps even further restrictions) permitted instead of 10.
- * code chips added (they didn't exist in the original game).
- Battlechip codes are now displayed under the battlechip in the custom screen. (This was not in the original game, the only way to know what code your battlechips were was to hover over thier icon and view their picture for the code).
- Several new battlechips have likely been added (see Story changes for why), as a new Program Advance is confirmed to exist.

Story changes:
- Crossover with Star Force - someone named Clockman kidnaps Harp Note and time travels to the EXE world. Subaru chases after him. Meanwhile, Roll has also disappeared, and Maylu claims that a mysterious blue Navi has kidnapped her.
- Subaru has been confirmed to be playable. His exclusive abilities are Shield and Lock-On. (No one knows what EXE's exclusive abilities are yet.)
- Subaru will apparently play a very important role in the main game (rather than the post-game like almost everyone originally expected), as the initial scenario involving him is confirmed to take place towards the middle of the main game.
- There is a new prolouge sequence.

---Info from the original thread---

www.themmnetwork.com/2009/09/17/largifie...

New info from CoroCoro. This is turning out to be something very interesting. Apparently Subaru/Geo will appear early on in the storyline, and we can switch between playing as Subaru and Rockman.EXE.

Both are implied to have exclusive abilities. Subaru keeps his shield and lock-on from the SSR series, while it's not exactly clear what Rockman.EXE gets (although it's speculated that only he can use Program Advances). There's some speculation that certain battlechips (or Navichips) are exclusive to each character as well.

So, who are you going to play as?

Me? I have a crazy Rockman.EXE obsession (no, not THAT kind of crazy). SSR in general? Not so much. >_>

---Thread updates---

UPDATE
9/23/09: New trailer!
9/24/09: And subbed!

---

9/24/09: New info from TGS!

www.themmnetwork.com/2009/09/25/rockman-...

TGS stage report from Dengeki Online. Battle Cards from the SSR series are mentioned, and a curious picture of Rockman.EXE walking on what appears to be a wave road (during the minigame, but obvious speculation that it's not for the minigame only) is displayed.

---

10/13/09: Preliminary (which means we're missing info) CoroCoro update.

www.themmnetwork.com/2009/10/13/a-little...

Nothing much on the battle system besides new battlechip or two and plot things. Probably the most interesting thing to come out of this so far is a new OSS manga starring a different protagonist instead of Netto/Lan.

---

10/21/09: Official site updates.

www.themmnetwork.com/2009/10/21/rockman-...

- Explanation of Subaru/Geo's abilities (now we learn that he has his rapid buster too).
- Explanation of Program Advances.
- Explanation of Clockman's combat abilities (seriously, why are they telling us this now?)
- Info about the Star Colosseum (two modes, VS each other or VS Forte/Bass). Stars can be traded for rare battlechips (I hope no exclusive chips come out of this).
- Info about exactly when Geo/Subaru shows up during the game.
- There is a prolouge sequence where you see Subaru/Geo before he heads into the EXE world.
- Also, like I had sort of hoped for, Geo shows up rather early on in the main game, sometime after the Numberman scenario.

---

11/05/09: A variety of things.

There's a new official EXE OSS webcomic short. Do not click on the link unless you are ready to groan.

this looks really cool but what bothers me is the fact that only starforce megaman gets lock on which is going to be a problem seeing as though most people would mainly be using ssr megaman and not exe megaman unless he got a new ability too.

Looks good but nothing so far has come close to being better than Battle network 3 that game was amazing.

It looks like Rockman.EXE might be getting new abilities.

The reason why the screenshots are so vauge on what EXE gets in this issue is apparently because - according to a few people at Protodude's Rockman Corner - what is exclusive to Rockman.EXE is supposed to be discussed in next month's CoroCoro issue. It seems that this issue is mostly meant to explain what Subaru gets.

And now it's starting to look like both characters have access to Program Advances.

My guess is that if they're saving Rockman.EXE's abilities for next month, then what he has is likely to be something equally impressive. I'm already putting my money on whatever Rockman.EXE gets to be based on more strategic measures while Subaru is likely to be more of a straightfoward fighter. EXE's likely to get some sort of revamped style system, and they might even toss in the Navi Customizer for him as well, but this is just pure speculation.

One thing to note is that we haven't seen what Subaru's custom screen looks like, while we have seen EXE's screen which was leaked about a week ago (and we still don't know what that mysterious odd-looking 6th battlechip selection slot above the OK button does). I'd also be willing to put my money on Subaru likely having less battlechips displayed on his screen, or something similar.

But chances are we'll figure everything out in about two weeks during TGS and/or in some sort of teaser trailer beforehand.

The gameplay is reverting back to the Battle Network roots!

Swapping characters sound pretty fun once you want to do something new once in a a while but thiis seems more of a Battle Network installment than that of Star Force.

Anyway, my vote is for Exe since I'd personally choose him over Sabaru.

Oh MAN look at those screens!  Memories of the early Battle Network games are rushing back into my noggin, and it feels good.

Never played the Starforce games (no longer have a DS Undecided), but I am curious to switch to Sabaru to try his abilities compared the EXE's.

The game is starting to sound better with each bit of info and screen shots that are releases. I'll probably stick to Rockman.EXE for the most part in the game as he is my favourite of the 2. It all really depends on who's abilities are more useful in a fight though.

Full scan. That's some awesome artwork. I hope that will be a wallpaper soon.

Looking mighty interesting. Somehow, that artwork made me think, "I wonder if they're going to make a short anime season based on EXE OSS?" Hm... Probably not, but who really knows at this point?

TGS starts in about a week, and if I recall correctly, there's supposed to be some kind of special announcement for EXE OSS and/or for a different Rockman series. Massive info rush on just about everything then!

Wow, great find/scan.

Can't wait for TGS, seems like Capcom will have something to announce for nearly all types of Capcom fans.
