I think it's time for a successor to the failed PET sim, Rockman EXE 4.5. And this time, a US release

I'd hardly say it failed. It was a very entertaining game as long as you knew what you were doing, to say the least. If anything, the only thing that would be considered a failure was that it did not get an overseas release.

Either way, I'd doubt they'll ever make one again for a very long while. The EXE and SSR series has been in a steady decline in terms of sales during the past few years, which is probably what prompted the EXE 1 remake/crossover (even though it looks like it was an idea that was being tossed around for several years). It didn't help that the ZX series mostly bombed in Japan from what I've been hearing, and we don't really know exactly how well Mega Man 9 did.

Notice how there was a huge mess of Megaman games being created during the years of EXE 3-6. As soon as SSR and ZX came out, the games suddenly became few and far between when compared to the situation during the EXE era.

In short, I don't think Capcom can afford to make a completely new 'side story' game of sorts at the moment.

good point.  the BN and MMZ series were coming and going like hot cakes.  Has the Japanese audience changed over the years, or did Capcom do something wrong?

I played 1,2,3, and 6 of the BN series in about that order, and each game essentially encouraged me to play the next.  Then I played and beat Starforce 1, but didn't feel the need to continue with the series.

If the problem with the series is indeed the gameplay, then perhaps a reboot of Battlenetwork game-play will breath new life into the series.  I hear that the new game is also coming out at a reduced cost, so perhaps BN has a fighting chance.

oh hell it better. cuz BN the only reason i got a dsi. well not bn cuz they took out gba slot, but the crossover.

i rly want that. plus the zx and staforce game. ahh megaman, such a great series, every single one of the games rules. its rly sad that the sales have been going down. and i don't think the gameplay was ba at all during the bn stages, as the games went up, they became better, altho i think 4 is better than 5. 6 is my fav.

starforce, well its just like bn, even with sf 3, and bn 3. style and nose changes. notice the similaritys? lol, sf 4 might even be a tourniment. i dont think it will tho, since people really disliked bn 4s tourniment.

Starforce killed it for me, I dont need that kind of 2.5 D gameplay, I'd prefer to stick with the original battlenetwork gameplay if I could.
