I have always admired Megaman games since the days of Playstation (I got both X4 & Legends 1 at the same time ;p). I remember that back then, Capcom certainly focuses on Megaman games on consoles. However, ever since the success of battle network series, the focus of Megaman seems to have moved over to portables (BN, SF, Z, ZX... and I'm still getting them all...).

I would really love to know whether you personally prefer to focus Megaman franchise on consoles or on portables in the future? Also, what is Capcom's view regarding Megaman's platform of choice?

A glimpse of Megaman's planned future will be absolutely wonderful.

(This might also determine whether I will purchase a next gen system or not ^_^)

First of all, Mr. Inafune, I'd like to say what an honor and a pleasure it was to meet you at the NYC Game Stop event you attended.  Haha, if you remember me, I was the person who gave you a Lotto Ticket to use for Legends 3.

Anyway, onto my question.  Over the years, MegaMan has been taken in a couple of different directions, with Legends, Battle Network, ZX, and most recently Star Force.  I was curious if you have any other directions or ideas for different types of game genres that you would like to maybe explore with MegaMan?  Like a Giant Mecha MegaMan series?  Or a Real Time/Turn Base Strategy MegaMan series, like maybe something similar to the Rockman Strategy game released in Thailand?  Or even something as strange as a Puzzle or Rhythm Based MegaMan game, for example?  I mean, I loved MegaMan Soccer!  I was just curious where and how you see the series and MegaMan himself progressing in the future?

Oh, and thank you so very much for Mega Man 9.  Words cannot express how much I'm looking forward to that game.

This is going to sound like a silly question, but it was important enough for me to register here for the small chance of having it answered.

In the early classic Megaman and X series, the art for a number of characters would depict them making a hand gesture, with all fingers spread out except for the middle and ring finger, which were held together.  Was there ever a meaning behind this hand sign?

Some examples:

MM1: Megaman, Cutman, Iceman.

MM2: Metalman, Quickman.

MM3: Shadowman.

X1: Chill Penguin, Armor Armadillo.

X2: Crystal Snail.

etc. etc.

Now for some picture links so everyone knows what I'm talking about.

I would truly appreciate it if this question could be answered.  And of course, many thanks to Mr. Inafune for creating one of the most popular game franchises and my personal favorite.

Will you guys be doing anything with the characters from Clover Studios any time soon?  Recently, we were told that if someone at Capcom feels inspired, a sequel to a Viewtiful Joe is not out of the question.

So, will you or any of the other developers at Capcom be doing anything with Viewtiful Joe, Okami or God Hand any time soon?

PS: The Zack & Wiki team would be a great fit on an Okami sequel!

(First of all, as a small aside to the many posters here: While I'm always fond of fellow MegaMan fans searching for knowledge, some questions asked here have been answered before (though I'm not sure on every one, some I know for sure have been answered). Anyway, here is my question.)

Mister Inafune,

As a fan since the original series, a question comes to mind that concerns me greatly. Is ProtoMan really dying from an energy imbalance, or did Dr. Wily fix it prior to MegaMan 3? If the issue stll exists, do you plan to address it in any future games?

Thank You for your time sir, and may your love of the Blue Bomber never sway.

Sincerely,

Jason (TrenoNeoKnight)

Inafune San, first know that you are my #1 Idol and you are the best ever! I could never thank you enought for creating Megaman! Day and Night I play Megaman games! I play megaman since the very first one on the NES video game console and got the newest title ( Megaman Star Force 2 ) , Thank you for all those years where you've given us new Megaman games and I'll always be a Megaman fan! You're the best Inafune San! ! Thank you again for creating Megaman !

My question is :

Afther all new releases, will it be possible to have portable collections of Megaman titles ? Like Rockman World series, or Megaman Anniversary Collection for PSP, many fans did not get the chance to buy their copys, that sadly includes me.

My next question is :

Could there ever be another collection ? like Megaman Anniversary Collection 2 ? With the Rockman World series ( Gameboy Series )

My next question is :  Would it be possible to make a Megaman ZX Anime movie ? there was the promo movie for the ZX Commercial so far, and it was awesome.

My last question :  Could there be next official art books for Megaman Series ?

You are the best Inafune San! Thank you for creating Rockman!

Hello, Inafune-san.

I'm so happy with your efforts to bring happiness to long-time fans of the Rockman (Mega Man) franchise, and I'm very amazed that you and your company has ensured a balanced set of different series and genres that caters to all fans and gamers.

I hope you keep this up and satisfy all the fans as much as you can. Your creative visions always amazes me. *smile* ^-^

==========================================================

My question is this:

"Over the years, there has been a lot of remakes of Rockman coming out as a means of reliving those games over again or be available to gamers that didn't manage to get their hands on those games in the past. There's already been a few Rockman collections released, like "Mega Man Anniversary Collection" and "Mega Man X Collection".

In Japan, there was also the Complete Works series, releasing the Famicom (NES) Rockman games for the Playstation, with a big package of unlockable features and modes. This included things like Database (it stores enemy, boss and artwork data), Navi & Original Mode, Hard Mode, Boss Attack & Mission Mode, and other bonus features that boosted the replay value of games.

My question is, will we see more Rockman games being released in the same way? I didn't have the already existing PSP games in mind (Powered Up/Rockman Rockman and Irregular Hunter X/Maverick Hunter X), but if there was a way to release more Complete Works games, I'd love to know if there are plans for that in the future?

They could even be collections of many games on one disc, and that would be alright, but if you would be able to produce Complete Works series or collections with lots of replay value (and extra modes and difficulties), that would be very nice. Like for example Rockman World Complete Works (Game Boy series collection), or even "Mega Man Anniversary Collection 2" with games that wasn't released the first time.

Any thoughts about that?"

==========================================================

My next question:

"Are you and your company planning to release ANY of Rockman's cellphone games to other game systems instead of cellphones?

Fans all around the world have been missing out on games like Rockman DASH: Great Quest on 5 Islands, Rockman EXE: Phantom of Network, Rockman EXE: Legend of Network, Rockman GP, just to name a few.

Will you consider releasing any of these cellphone games on at least a portable system instead of cellphones?"

==========================================================

Another question I believe needs an answer is this:

What happened to Wily in the X Series? We want to know.

==========================================================

My last question:

"Do you visit English fan sites, like for example rockmanpm.com, themmnetwork.com, themechanicalmaniacs.com, mmhp.net, sprites-inc.co.uk and other interesting fan sites? What would your impression be on those fan sites?"

==========================================================

Also, thank you for giving us Rockman 9! I'm very excited to play a Rockman game in 8bit again.

Thank you for your time and your work with the Rockman franchise, and hope to see you visit us again.

Fight, Inafune! For Everlasting Peace!

Love and kindness,

Rebecca/Vixy, from the website Rockman Perfect Memories.

Rockman 9 (Wii): 96%, 00:23:31 (All Clear), 1355 (Endless Attack), 03:33:10 (Special Stage), Modes: Blues, Hero, Super Hero.

Dear Mr. Inafune. Thank you for taking the time to answer questions from us fans, it is most appreciated.

Here is my first question.

With animated series previously created for the Rockman EXE and the Shooting Star Rockman games, do you think that in the near future we could be seeing a anime series based off of the original Classic Rockman games? Outside of the US Mega Man cartoon and the Japanese Rockman Wish Upon a Star OVA, the classic rockman series has not had an animated series.

Here is my second question.

With the recent outburst of fan-made rockman media such as Air Man ga Taosenai (Air Man Will Not Die) and Okkusenman! over the past few years. What is your opinion on fan-made rockman media such as muscial remixes, fan-made music videos, and fan art. As the web owner of a fan-site dedicated to such work (http://www.rockmanamv.com/), I have always been curious as to what your opinions on such things were.

[ Here are a few examples of fanwork ]

Johan Agebjörn featuring Nintendo - Mega Man II
Rockman X2 MV X Japan - 紅(Kurenai)
[ ロックマン エグゼ - ウッドマン ] Rockman.Exe - Woodman

Here is my third question.

If Mega Man 9 is a success, (At this point it looks as if it will be) what are your plans for future Mega Man games? Perhapes a Mega Man 10, Mega Man X9, or Mega Man Legends 3 (Hellz yeah!)? Maybe I should rephrase this question. With the success of Mega Man 9, what future Mega Man game would you like to make next.

My fourth and final question is more related to Mega Man 9

In the August issue of Nintnedo Power, Chris H. the writter of the Mega Man 9 article stated the following

[ - We could go on about how Mega Man 9 features classically influenced
game design and thumb-busting challenge, enhanced with features such as
online leaderboards and downloadable content, but instead we'll go
straight to the source: the game's producer (and Mega Man's creator)
Keiji Inafune. - ]

Ever since then, one question has been on my mind, will Mega Man 9 really contain online leaderboards and downloadable content? I can understand if you are not allowed to reveal such information at this time, but I had to ask anyway :P

DUDE OMFG YOU ARE MY HERO!!!

Here are my questions.

1. What was your inspiration to making Sigma?

2. Is there any chance of Sigma coming back even as a reference?

3. Will there be a third ZX?

Wow It's funny how I've had millions of things I've wanted to ask him and I can only think of these ATM.
