I fear this is my last attempt at sanity. First I would just give in to the blanket of sleep that would inevitably swallow me as the end of each day grew nigh... ...it was nothing out of the ordinary at first. Sleep was a regular bullet on my daily To-Do List. ...but then the red eye started invading my dreams. It would just stare at me; it would blink until I woke up screaming. There was no escaping it. Every night, it would hold me captive a little longer. I started waking up later and later in the day, and I knew that eventually I would be locked in this horrifying dream world. No... not dream world. Nightmare world. If I tried to run, it would simply break apart and reappear directly in front of me. Surely I should be able to outsmart my own nightmares? I knew I was going insane. Soon I would be forever trapped inside my own sleeping head. As the nightmares grew longer and longer, I began to recognize this red pupil. Something from my childhood. Something that had given me endless amounts of trouble. Infinite hours of frustration. But for all the trouble and frustration it gave me... ...I remembered but one thing: I had defeated the Yellow Devil. ... ... ... And now it was time for his revenge. |
