Mega Man 10 should finally dig into Mega Man and Bass's relationship

As I have said, Bass has to be at least Mega Man's half-brother. Mega Man is Proto Man's full brother and Roll is his full sister because Dr. Light worked on all three of them (presumably, Dr. Wily helped build Proto Man) and it was stated that, Mega Man and Proto Man were the same prototype, and that was what made them brothers, and it has also been stated that Bass was modeled after or a copy of Mega Man, so Bass is obviously the same prototype, and obviously Mega Man, Proto Man, and Roll's half brother. Also, it can also be said that Treble, who was modeled after Rush, is Rush's younger half-brother as well. Not even Capcom can deny a brotherly relationship between Mega Man and Bass, from what they stated. Its just impossible.

Actually, if memory serves, Wily didn't help create Proto Man, he just found him near death and repaired him later, prior to Mega Man 3.

Bass was created many years after MegaMan, there's no strong reason to assume there's an immediate similarity in their designs, not for them to be considered "brothers".

And what would it mean that the series focuses on a "brother" relationship between the 2? I don't think neither Bass nor MegaMan would want to consider the other as a "brother". So how would this work? Reflective narrative only? A story where they're forced to recognize each other as "brothers" somehow? And to what benefit do you choose this premise over another more immediate one?

I'm just not sold. Sorry.

It would seem that Mega Man would like the idea of Bass being his brother since he always tells Bass "Stop it! I don't want to fight with you!" and "Why must I fight you? We are not enemies", while I'm sure Bass would despise the idea. Also, just because they are brothers, does not mean that they have to like each other. Look at the Mega Man cartoon how Proto Man was portrayed as an evil brother, and he would always be saying "Mega Man is mine! I get to destroy Mega Man! He's my brother!" so why would it have to be any different, even if Mega Man and Bass were brothers? (Athough I really don't think Proto Man would have destroyed Mega Man in the cartoon, seeing as, on many ocassions where he had the chance, he either threw Mega Man aside, or quit fighting Mega Man and left the scene.

Also, as I said before, if you ever watched the InuYasha anime, you should see how much InuYasha and his half-brother, Sesshomaru wanted to kill each other. Sure their relationship improved as the series went on, and they worked together a few times, but that doesn't mean that they are the best of friends. I don't think they want to kill each other anymore, but they still have a major atitude toward each other, whenever they cross paths.

No. Just, no. Bass and MegaMan are not brothers. In any form. Bass is a idea 'copy' of MegaMan. That is it. ProtoMan and MegaMan are indeed brothers. Bass, not in a long shot. Anime reference for this: DragonBall Z. MegaMan = Kakarot/Goku, Bass = Vegeta.

Plus, they have more of an 'anti-hero/enemy' type relationship. MegaMan is forced to fight, Bass forces the fight. And MegaMan doesn't consider Bass as an enemy, since Wily created Bass for the sole purpose of fighting MegaMan. MegaMan has heart, and doesn't get the thrill of fighting as Bass does. They are too different to be anything sort of brothers. Now, Quint could be concidered a distant, identical brother once removed. But, R-Shadow also is nothing sort of a brother either.

And you cannot take the series seriously when considering the game. MegaMan needed an archrival. With no Bass at the time, it was ProtoMan. It is non-canon in most aspects.

One was created by Light and the other by Wily. So,they are no brothers.

Besides, "brotherhood" shouldn't be considered as a very literal concept regarding machines. There are no DNA similarities, no blood relationships, no real parents (just makers).

Mega Man and Protoman are just "brothers" because they were made by the same guy, but the brother relationship ends just there. It doesn't get any farther because they are not real brothers.

At least they are not more brothers than Mega Man and Gutsman, for example.

True about fraternity and Bass should have had a role in Megaman 9 but hopefully he will be in 10,if there's going to be one.

The only reason I'd see them as brothers is that Bass is pretty much based off of Megaman's design and abilities. He's really more of a clone. but Still in that sense It would make just a tini bit of sense that they could be considered brothers.

Bass was an exact copy to resemble Megaman, that was Wily's intention but he ended up a failure.
