It's true. They chose to put an emphasis on the level design for a MM game stripped down to the bare bones and built from the ground up with current day level design concepts. It's quite fun and interesting to be thrown back into the fray and then realize you have no slide or charge shot either. You can play as Protoman too if you get the DLC which is about $3. |

One of the things that bothered me was the boss characters. cement man?, jewel man? I think capcom could of made better bosses.

I am sure all megaman fans have invented their own boss character names. Did anyone come up with the same boss names as in mm9? I know many people thought of splashman but capcom really surprised us all naming it splashwoman. |

I thought all the bosses were pretty creative. Splashwoman was a nice twist to the classic formula. |

Sure the names might not be the best but the boss designs and fights were fantastic in my opinion. Out of all of the "shield" bosses Jewel Man is probably my favorite (maybe second place to Woodman), not to mention the Jewel Shield itself is one if not the most handy shield weapon in the Megaman series. Beats the hell out of Dustman (heh) at very least.

This is the very first megaman game(including X and Zero and ZX etc) where I like all 8 of the weapons. But I agree Jewel Satellite is the most broken shield attack ever. |

I read in an interview that inafune redesigned the character bosses of splashwoman and plugman. The other's were made by someone else. |
