do i have to beat all the v (v2,v3)navis to get to the sp navis

i put in the code in after i got five stars and it didn't work? what do i have to do to get it to work?

did room open up for more stars after you entered RRLRLRLL and were you looking in the right spots for the omega navis? i'm not sure if you have to beat all the navis v1,v2, and v3 versions to get it or not. I had already beat the navis before i challenged the omega navis anyway.
