More Megaman 10 Madness - RainbowMan Stage

    Tuesday, February 3, 2009, 08:28 AM [General]

Here is a part of RainbowMan's stage. It took less time to make this one because a lot of the assets needed were already made. Only had to compose 1 song. Still, designing the stage and drawing all of this took a while... ^_^ MegaMan is pretty much animated frame by frame for almost the entire video.
Note that GlueMan is already defeated. It's just to show how his weapon is used in the "game" and how it's RainbowMan's weakness. Kinda like QuickMan's weakness which is also used in his stage. So no, there is no GlueMan video. ( :
    Enjoy! I think it's pretty kick ass! ( :

Sorry about those whose posted early comments. I had to re-upload the video because Youtube for some reason lowers the quality of the beginning of the video.

Check out my deviantart to see my stuff if you are interested. Also, I'll post screenshots over there soon.

I don't own the MegaMan series. It belongs to CAPCOM

MegaMan 10 Gameplay Footage - Tankman Stage

    Tuesday, January 13, 2009, 10:32 AM [General]

I made this video over the course of the last 2 months. This is what a hypothetical Megaman 10 would look like if I used 8 of the many Robot Masters I designed when I was a kid. Of course I re-designed them with my current drawing skills which are a lot better now than back then. Check out megaphilx.deviantart.com and my blog on capcom-unity.com if you want to see more of my stuff ^_^

I'm sorry to a lot of people here who were expecting it to be an actual playable game but this is an animation entirely done in Flash and Photoshop.

    About the graphics:

All MegaMan, Dr Light, Dr Wily and explosions sprites are from the original MM games. Thanks a lot to Sprites INC for this stuff.

Everything else was made from scratch by me, in Photoshop and then animated in Flash. I tried to stick to the 8-Bit rule but I wasn't too strict about it. I did my best to make it look as close as possible to a real MegaMan game so most of the video is actually animated frame by frame and drawn pixel by pixel. It's a lot of work. ( :

As for the soundtrack credits, in order of appearance:

    Story Intro - City: MegaPhilX

    Story Intro - Chaos: MegaPhilX

Story Intro - Work Together: MegaPhilX

    Story Intro - Crisis: MegaPhilX

Title Screen - MegaMan 10: MegaPhilX

    Stage Select Screen: Yan Thouin

    Stage Start: MegaPhilX

    TankMan Stage: Yan Thouin

    Robot Master Battle: MegaPhilX

Stage Clear: MegaPhilX + Original MM2

    Weapon Get Screen: Yan Thouin

All music was made with Famitracker except Stage Select, TankMan Stage and Weapon Get which were made with Reason. (The drum tracks was made separately in Famitracker for those.)

The Story: I made up the story for it to be as close as possible to an actual classic MegaMan game story would be like, while at the same time trying to keep the viewer intrigued about what would happen in the rest of the game. Oh my god! Dr Wily has been kidnapped! I wonder what's going to happen next! lol I think I succeeded. Again, all pictures you see here were drawn by me, pixel by pixel. Try to guess who is the mysterious robot. ( :

Everything was put together with Sony Vegas. I even made different versions of the songs for the moments where the sound effects would mute some tracks in the songs like the NES does.

This video has appeared on the CAPCOM blog with the following comment:

"MegaPhilX put together this awesome fan created Mega Man 10 trailer. What's amazing to me is the perfection of it. It's enough to turn the heads of any MM fan!"

    Thanks, Snow! You rock! ^_^

Thanks to all for your comments and feedback! But please, don't take everything too seriously. I'm sorry to tell you guys this is just an animation because I know some of you were expecting a game. : P But, I'm a game designer, and I've got gameplay ideas for all of these stages so who knows, if a programmer would like to code this, maybe it could be made into a game... ^_^ After all, I did learn Flash and Famitracker from scratch just to create this video so, we'll see... Anyway, enjoy and have fun! ^_^ Oh and if you've got ideas, I'm all ears!

PS: Another video of another stage is coming soon for your viewing pleasure! ^_^

PPS: I'll also post a soundtrack video in the following days too.

Now that the Press Kits have been issued, it has become a lot more quiet in the MegaMan community forums. But I wanna take this opportunity to thank CAPCOM for the great last couple of weeks where not only did we get the chance for a MM9 Press Kit but to meet many cool people. I'm still going to hang around here for sure. ^_^

Now, the Ultimate MegaMan Fan contest is at hand and in the last weeks, I've posted a lot of Megaman stuff related to this.
