Hi.

Just wanted to know, what is/are the best ways in getting Behemoth's enmity if you can't find dragon pods?  And is there a way to hold enmity longer? What weapon would you use for this role?

Thank you for your replies.

Shotgun. The Kulve Taroth shotgun works best. Never attempt to use gunlance or lance... I've seen crap players trying to gain his enmity with that.

No way to hold it longer, it's standard 90 seconds +/-.

Best way to do it is:

1. ALWAYS let tank go in first
2. Phase 1 run in, gain aggro > 2 boulders and if dps is decent (don't need high dps), u should only need to hold aggro once)
3. phase 2, run in shoot to get enmity, if dps is decent only need 1 aggro too
4. phase 3, same but probably needs 2 or 3 pulls. After you lost the 3rd aggro, prepare to jump or wipe.
5. phase 4 run in, flash get aggro. After losing it first time, have gunners standby to sleep him and bomb him with you igniting it and shooting it's head at the same time for 2nd aggro.
6. last 4.3 phase, sleep or paralyse for you to get aggro, or stun him.

This fight I usually kick all non HB gunner dps. Melees is **** for this fight unless the players is very well geared, knows his weapon very well and how to deal decent damage.

Have only done it with a GS decently once with another HB gunner. Believe me I gave all a chance... IG sucked big time, LBG not great, neither is bow.

Thank you for the reply.

I've tried the Taroth Assault "Glutton" (shotgun).  While I do like using it for tank purposes, after trying out other weapons (HBG and other types), I seem to have more success getting enmity with the Empress Cannon "Styx" using Slicing ammo.  The Empress Cannon "Styx" also has Clust and Sleep ammo.  I can use Clust whenever Behemoth is down and help put him to Sleep whenever he gets too hard to handle (area 4).

Regarding your other comments, I've seen Youtube/Twitch streams using Gunlance or Lance as tanks consistently getting enmity.  I've also seen some experienced IG and LBG users do very well in Extreme Behemoth fights.  As you said, if they've mastered the weapon, they can easily handle their role in the fight.

Don't count the Bow users as well...  I've seen a number of Youtube videos doing solo Bow fights of Extreme Behemoth in record time.

Tried Empress, it isn't as great as shotgun. If you had issues with it you're not hitting the right spot. I have over 50 EX tanks kills.

BTW hope you know you're are supposed to be hitting it's face not the 'head' like many claimed. I believe you find Styx easier cause the slicing hits an 'overall area'.

Never heard of IG being able to 'tank' i -jumping around avoiding him isn't tanking btw, its just holding enmity while avoiding and trying to hit it at the same time hoping not to get hit- , gunlance sucked at gaining aggro.

The whole fight isn't about being able to gain aggro consistently, any weapon can do that.

Tt's about being able to gain aggro within the fastest time, which reduces Behemoth dropping lots of **** around on your team. Glutton lets you fire spread 2/3 nearly without recoil (which affects the timing inbetween attacks), no other weapon can do this not even bow. If you play with me you'll know how fast I can get aggro.

But nevertheless you are entitied to your own opinion 8).

*I've carried countless players past this quest, you can add me madmagius or me@kahtat.com on PS4 if you woud like to see how I fast I grab aggro.

It really depends on how proficient you are with said weapon.  With Behemoth running around so much, I really have a hard time going for the head and slicing shots seem to be what's best for me (I am not really skilled... just an average MH player :D ).

Regarding IG, what I meant was a weapon that one can bring to a (Ex)Behemoth fight... not really as a tank.  As per LBG, I've also used that for tanking purpose... usually to get aggro and going for the tail.  Going circles around him is really quite fun with the LBG.

I would usually switch to HGB Clust with mantles in the last few areas and rely on sleep and paralyze for crowd control.  It is really quite hard for me to get his aggro when he moves around a lot as he runs towards the other hunters... so I might as well just go for heavy damage with (hopefully) enough protection from the mantles.

Thank you for the offer.  I would love to see a video of the full run to give me an idea how you go about it.  Also, I may ask you for your help when Drachen Gamma armor comes out. :D
