Getting online via Official AdHoc Party Tutorial Thread

There were talks of bringing over Ad-Hoc party early on in it's release in Japan, but that quickly died away.  So those articles should probably be older and outdated. Just my opinion ofcourse.  That doesn't mean we may or may not get it sometime in the coming months.

Just that, members of this forum have gone to the sony forums asking about AdHoc Party, and the topics were mysteriously deleted without notification or reason.

I totally agree that if Sony decided to embrace AdHoc Party in the US/UK, it would certainly help their position on selling hardware.

This isn't to say that AdHoc Party would be the deal breaker for most people, but its a substantial perk for a Sony rep to say, "Well, with this new program, owners of both a PS3 and PSP will be able to bring their multiplayer PSP games online with gamers across the world"

Many gamers own a PSP but not a PS3 and vice versa.  AdHoc Party might be one of the determining factors for consumers to invest in the other system since in the US/UK, people are very spread out, unlike Japan where it is very densely populated and even hobos have a PSP with monster hunter.

Oh, trust Me, I know that I made a mistake when I posted that post about the AD-Hoc system, anyways, it's all good.

The good thing about all of this is that with My mistake came some very good insight & comments from You & others (at least I think so); Your above comment is really good!

Yeah, it was months ago when I saw said article!

*fingers crossed* NA/UK AD-HOC soon. :)

Um Bastion, please refrain from making statements that are simply common sense. People might begin to talk..sheesh, AdHoc Party selling systems. That's like saying people will buy a PS3, Wii or PSP just because Capcom ireportedly is making a Monster Hunter game for that particular system. err, that is why I bought the PSP, so nevermind....

Yes, the current PSP has no onboard memory so a memory stick with enough space for the demo is required to play it.

So, no wifi huh? Well that's a pain in the ass...very unlikely I'll be able to use ad-hoc party then. I know no one who plans on getting MHFU, and therefore, since I probably not be able to play online, I am now back on the fence for this game.

: / Bit of a shame

On the one hand, can't please all of the people all of the time

Yet, on the other, in MHFU, there is the addition of a felyne companion that can accompany you on missions, making it easier for single players.

Yeah, but if the demo is anything to go by, the game is still pretty hard, even with the companion. Whatever happened to regular infrastructure multiplayer? That has voice chat too, you know.

The demo is a bit skewed, the weapons and armor were altered, and the cats could have been better, but its roughly the same.

Far as difficulty goes, *everything* can be solo'd in monster hunter, so its not that hard.

One thing I keep forgetting is that the cats have more customization then the demo let's on.  So they get better over time.
