And honestly, that's completely up to you.

Although, I will say this much:

If you want to take full advantage of leveing up your Felyne buddy, I would suggest you start from scratch or do a partial transfer. That way when you attempt the new G quests your Felyne will be able to take a few hits and know quite the handy list of skills.

And hey, you can even make a second character whom is the opposite sex of your first character, it's always nice to see who has the cooler looking armors & stuff.

usualll females get the cooler looking armor...not just sexy :(

I'm going to transfer Megumi, but make a new character just for Unite as well :)  Megumi actually started on MHF1, then I transfered her to F2 and now she goes to Unite.  Makes sense, lol :)  I think I'll play her more on Unite because of the cat buddy.  They're very nice to have around ;-)

im doing a full transfer...1100+ hours arent going to waste... and ill probably spend a lot of time doing quests offline just so i can level my cats :P

this def is a plus for me and i think i will enjoy playing this game offline. woulda been nice to be able to use them online LOL would be very crowded and OP but coulda been nice to still be able to give them XP a bit and also just use them to carry some extra stuff like maybe 10 more slots...but won't fight. that or some way to be bring partial XP home or something woulda been fun :)
