Currently, in MHF2, we cannot combine IN the item box in our house, BUT, in Unite, you are able to do so, and if you have the combo books in you item box, it will automatically apply the bonus

Oh I am so gonna love Unite. So often the only times I take the books out (sans gunning of course) is to make stuff. This coupled with buy to box and single stacks. Yes!
