Despite you being a collector, this demo give away was not for you. It was meant to attract more people into the brand of Monster Hunter to make it more successful. "Collecting" these demos is pointless, as you could have gotten one for yourself by simply going to a GameStop store and pre-ordering the game.

Don't you think having GS give the demos away for free without preorder would generate more interest in the series than making it mandatory to reserve the game first? I mean...how should people who have never played MH even have motivation to buy the game without trying it first. Also, what about MH PSP bundles? This could've created more support for the series by having the attach rate of the game to systems. A little push for tv spot adverts on Saturday morning cartoons or Nickelodeon and you guys have a gold mine on your hands over here like in Japan. After all, it's the kids that love Bakugan and Yu-gi-oh that would make Monster Hunter a big hit over here. You just have to hide the blood in commercials and make sure parents buy it for their kids! LOL. |

Actually no, because people would just take them regardless or not if they had a PSP, believe it or not but for most people if they can get something for free, they do it. (which is why piracy exists) You are given a free UMD demo when you either pre-order a game (doesn't have to be MHFU) or purchase a 'new' retailed $39.99 PSP game. If someone were to hand me a free UMD demo for either purchasing or pre-ordering a game I would definitely check it out. "Oh, why not just download it off of PSN?" Because there are so many titles, why check that title out instead of another one unless you're into said genre? The Gamestop deal reaches out to players that are unfamiliar to the Monster Hunter franchise. As for the MHFU PSP bundles, I don't think it really would have gotten that much support as you say, especially since the PSP has no real special design on it and Monster Hunter clearly lacks recognition here. ![]() http://www.youtube.com/user/MoisesL Now playing: Monster Hunter Freedom Unite Currently: Recording MHFU Walkthrough |

your intentions for the game are all well and fine, but do not tell presume to tell me MY business! I collect games. and a single, unopened, copy of them demo will fit nice into my collection. if you really intended for these to be for new players, you would not have snuck them into the auction... instead you would have made them available to new players. not put them someplace only hardcore fans look. pah-leese!
and as for gamestop, they arent giving them out to attract new players... they are insisting on a per-order. why pre-order if you dont know the game? come on, now who is bein ridiculous?
seriously, the whole Demo for preorders only, only helps prove my collector-point |

He wasn't insulting the fact that you collect games/content, he was just merely stating that THESE demos, meaning the ones put up on Capcom-Unity in the Raffles section are for new players. Snuck them in the auction? IIRC he made a blog post which clearly stated that the demos were there for 1 point, tell me who wouldn't take the time to order a 1 point demo? Only hardcore fans look at the Auctions? The Auction section features tons of different Capcom content. Like I said in my previous post, demos are given free upon pre-ordering any PSP game or by purchasing a new PSP game retailed at the usual $39.99 price. Too bad they are all sold out though, with that being said. . ![]() http://www.youtube.com/user/MoisesL Now playing: Monster Hunter Freedom Unite Currently: Recording MHFU Walkthrough |
