Combining has a percentage of success and failure. Buy some more, do it again, or buy combo books to increase the chances.

oh ok... anther question lol.. i put poison on my arrows but tis not poisoning the enemies, why?? |

You hafta keep hitting them with it. Monsters are big, a couple of tiny arrows with some poison on the ends isn't gonna immediately poison it. Keep shooting it, eventually the effect will happen.

Make sure to use the right kind of arrow shot too. If you are planning to poison an enemy, maybe a spread shot would do well. Rapids may also work, but i don't think pierce is a good one to use.
