Kirin Trouble

Okay, I started a new character for MHFU, and I have yet to fail a quest (maybe it's my cat?) But I recently killed a kirin with Snow Venom (no, I'm not kidding i finished with 1:28 left.) I needed it's tail, and was disappointed when I only got one (I need two to upgrade to the devil slicer, which was my favorite weapon on F2, but they obviously changed the requirements.) So I was wondering if it is possible to kill the Kirin with the Eager Cleaver, because that is the best weapon I have at the moment.

isn't eager cleaer a thunder weapon which is the element of the kirin?  Maybe.  The raw would be good, but I'd say use a fire or water weapon because it'w weaker to them.  Aim for the head, and don't be greedy with hits.  I would say use a hammer at least, so you can knock it to the floor and triple pound the head.

Yeah, definitely don't want to use Thunder Attribute on Kirin lol


I'm not very big on using Long Sword on him at all, I would stick to using either Sword or Hammer.

While Kirin IS weak to fire/water, he doesn't really take much elemental damage, pure raw power is your best bet.


I usually go with GS and just do an unsheathe swing to its head when theres an opening.

Sword N Sheild works best for me on Kirin. And, like bastien said, try to get one with high raw power. Maybe the garuga one. You should be able to fight the garuga if your taking on Kirin. BUT anything could work!

Stick to raw weapons, like hammer or sns or even some well placed gs swings.


Kirin and Terra Shogun really have no major weakness.  


Fire and raw weapon pretty much do same damage.

But yea, if you gonna be usin SNS, try and have ESP, otherwise, its not really necessary since with GS, you should only be hitting the head.

And ya, still as i thought it was.


Kirin isnt weak to fire..


1170, 620 fire took 16 lv3 slams  (thou it did knock him over 3 extra times)


1445  took 14 slams.

Thanks for the help, I didn't have a hammer so I made a Crystal Hammer, and the kirin died pretty quickly.
