Just a little info for you guys. My bro had firmware 3.71 (fat psp) and he couldnt import his character from mhf2 to mhfu. So i took my psp with firmware 5.03 (brite psp) and imported his character for him. When he put the save back onto his psp it said his save was corrupt, with some numbers. So i went out and updated his psp to 5.00 and it read his save just fine and hes playing mhfu. So if your having problems importing you might want to update your firmware to at least 5.00. Hope that helps
