Hi new to the forums, and MH in general. Finally made my big break through with Freedom Unite and really feeling the hunting thirst, so I was wondering what is my best option for online play? Like to hear from some more experienced MH vets. Xlink Kai and AdHoc Party look both intresting, but which should I choose? |

If you own a ps3, AHP is free, If you don't own PS3... I guess Xlink Kai. But it'll cost you 5-50 bucks for wifi adapter and fun of finding one.
I hate chat function for AHP, thou it is better program (most of the time..) I'll probaly alway use Kai over it thou. I just like set up.
*insert witty comment and words i can't spell here*
List Removed do to length. |

I've never used Kai so I can't really suggest against it, but I use AHP everyday, and love it. If you have a PS3, its definately the way to go, there are PLENTY of players to hunt with, so there is no shortage or stuff to do or people to do it with. Can use text chat or voice chat (any headset that works with PS3 will work) Some people can be annoying/impossible to tolerate on voice chat, if this happens, you can *switch* channels in the room, or just mute all mics while in the room. Unfortunately, there is no option to individually mute players yet. Other than that, AHP is great!

Hey i'm a long time MH fan. I just started using Adhoc Party and like it alot, and was a long time Xlink Kai user for MHF2 and MHP2G. Xlink Kai had a great MH community when i played on it but it been like a year since i've played there. If you have cash to buy WifiMax then why not chose both, Adhoc Party is free but need some getting use to because everything is in japanese. you can't go wrong either way Happy Hunting |

Thanks for the replies guys, I think I'll try AdHoc Party first then see how it works out from there. I just saw the official branded Xlink Kai USB wi-fi thingy for $20 in my local electronics store today and was wondering what to do. I'll go free first then try out Xlink. Now to dig up my PS3 headset... |

Be warned, many adapters say they are compatible with Kai. Compatible=/=worthwhile I'm sure Yuffie can tell you the proper adapter, IIRC theres 2 of them.

The one in the store is the same one that Xlink sells on thier site, it even has Xlink Kai branded on it, so I think it'll be good. Need to head over to the store anyways since I can't find a spare ethernet cable anywhere for AHP to work, lol. |

Lol, could prolly get the proper length ethernet cable for the same amount of money you would for the adapter. Newegg anyone?
