Any dinosaur fans out there?!? I'm a tremendous dinosaur fanatic & I must say... This tidbit of MH3(tri~) news, knocked me off my chair as well as made me smile like a 6yr old at his first toys-r-us visit.
THe "Dinosaur 2009 - Miracle in the Desert" exhibit will be open July 18th through Sept. 27th and is sponsored by Nihon Keizai Shimbun, TV Tokyo and the Nikkei National Geographic. www.kyoryu.jp/index.html
There will be a ton of dinosaur fossils as well as replicas of the latest dinosaurs found! There will be life-sized recreations of sauropods, theropods, ceratopsians, etc. But what really tickled my fancy was this...
A small corner of the exhibit will be dedicated to MONSTER HUNTER 3(tri~)!! At this part of Dinosaur 2009 - Miracle in the Desert, there will be images of how big MONSTER HUNTER creatures are compared to dinosaurs! There will be a lot of references to real animals and fossilized dinosaurs that were used as reference in creating MONSTER HUNTER monsters!
There will be a lot of swag as well, like this mini Ragiakurusu skeletal statue! I blogged about this and more, so feel free to check it out! But one of the best things I found out is that a CGI movie clip will be showed with images of dinosaurs next to Ragiakurusu and other monsters from the series!! A new MH cgi movie with dinosaurs!! www.capcom.co.jp/monsterhunter/topic_din... This news alone is breathtaking!
yeah i saw this in your blog, im a dinosaur fan too so all this will be very interesting to me
BTW how do you watch the cgi vid in the link you posted at the bottom (cant read japanese)
how do you think MH monsters would do against real dinos, like tigrex VS t-rex and a plesiosaur VS ragia
Unfortunately, that link at the bottom of my post does not contain the cgi movie. From what I read, said film can only be viewed at the "Dinosaur 2009 Miracle in the Desert" exhibit/event. I'm sure Capcom will produce this film for sale on their site some time this year, though.
And I apologize for doing this, but the dino-fanboy in me must correct you. A Plesiosaur is not a dinosaur. It is it's own Superorder Sauropterygia (Suborder, Plesiosauroidea), which includes other aqua-reptilians of the Mesozoic Era such as Elasmosaurus, Styxosaurus, and Thalassomedon.
But to answer your question, Tigarex would easily own a T-rex and Ragiakurusu would destroy, disembowel, electrocute and shred a Plesiosaur, with it's eyes closed, holding it's breath, with all 4 limbs tied behind Ragi's back! Then again, I've never seen a T-rex and Plesiosaur live, in action and Tigarex and Ragiakurusu are both fictional characters so I may very well be wrong!
This latest news is heavily MONSTER HUNTER 3(tri~)related!
The "Dinosaur 2009 - Miracle in the Desert" exhibit opened this weekend, in Chiba Japan to an amazing ticket sales! A lot of great Dinosaur fossil skeletons where on display, and a ton of museum quality items/toys/paraphernalia went on sale, too!
I went to the 2007 iteration of this exhibit and this is unlike any dinosaur exhibit in the planet. The detail, the customer service, the absolute cleanliness and professionalism is unmatched even to the other museums I've been to in NY, Texas and Wash. DC! ...back to the exhibit...
But this part of the article will blow you away, if you're not already amazed beyond belief by the exhibit! The MONSTER HUNTER corner is simply amazing. Here is a sample of what people at Chiba saw!
Yes, that there is a life sized facsimile of the skull of a RAGIAKURUSU!
Too Awesom for words, huh? I'd like to have that in front of my house!
Yes, that is some of the MH swag for sale at this exhibit!
And now for the cream of the crop...the special cgi film... ...a dinosaur versus monster comparison!!
First is the size difference between a Spinosaurus and a Hunter & Chacha
Now the size difference between a Rathian vs Spinosaurus
And last........holy smokes!!! I'm buying this film the moment it goes on sale!!!
Sorry for reviving an old thread, but ysoguild posted this awesome video!! Arguably the greatest MH related video you will see this month...that is, unless, you were one of the lucky individuals able to attend this past summer's event! If you were like the many who did not get to go, here is a small taste... www.youtube.com/watch?v=Blxa-41UiZg
I would've loved to have seen more of the Dinosaur vs MH3 monster comparison, but this video still rocks!!
