hey umm just really curious but could anyone tell me if this would be possible?: "say they were to include wii speak for tri for us in the US/PAL/where ever else it releases right, then would it be hypothetically possible for a wii update to be released online to retroactively allow for wii speak for the japanese wii owners? i mean ive heard that the japanese arent quite as into it as us overseas but i was just thinking it would be a great solution should capcom want to allow for wii speak..."

From what I know of Wii and it's current memory/SD card limitations. An update like this most likely will not be possible. The wii just doesn't function like the PS3 or Xbox with its OS. Since currently the Wii does not offer direct streaming of info from the SD card slot, anything that needs to be added to a game in terms of DLC needs to be loaded onto the wiis internal memory and the disc needs to have that functionailty already added. (good example is Guitar Hero World Tour DLC each song needs to be uploaded to the wii in order to play it).

The good news is that Nintendo is going to update their SD card options and allow direct streamin of info off an SD cards without having to upload the wii system memory soon with Gutar Hero 5. So technically I think something like this could be added to games in the future. Hope that made sense.

nope not really was a fraction over my head, but i have to say, this is the same company which crammed both discs worth of Resident evil 2 onto a N64 cartridge (a technological marvel at the time) so im thinking with a little ingenuity capcom could make this possible... even if they asked nintendo for help, seeing as theyre kinda working together on this hardware wise what with the controllers and the bundle packs and the monsters being hunted in japan and whatnotLaughing....

ok i got a little off track towards the end there, but my heart is in the right place...

Cant wait until Monster Hunter Tri releases to PAL...
hopefully Monster Hunter G will hold me off until tri gets here... =)

From what I've heard, the Wii2 should be debating in as little as 2-3 years(possibly 1.5) so the ratio in which games can be stored should increase meaning good news for future MH on Nintendo. That's just what i've deduced, but if they dont make the wii more powerfull then I wouldn't see the point of a wii2 -_-

There's going to be a Wii 2? I think they will call it something like Wii'ii, add a couple cameras, and some stuff like that. The controller will plug into the socket on the back of our heads  that the socialist government will implant sooner or later. (Sarcasm! )

MH4 for the Wii'ii, control with your brain.

Japan is the magical land of pocky and anime.

Notice how I lurk the MH Forums but have zero knowledge of the actual game.

You know I've heard about a wii2 for awhile now and I thought it was just a myth. But I guess it's real... Maybe the next MH title will be for the wii2 who knows. If anything they should implement other features like more memory, more channels, BETTER WII SENSORS, etc, etc.

Anyways we should probably get back to the topic

I think there is a good chance for WiiSpeak in Tri. Look at the changes Capcom is doing for Tatsunoko vs Capcom for our market. I'm sure they can make whatever changes they see fit for the western Tri release. :)

Wii2 seems like pure speculation to me. What has been said on many gaming websites is that  Nintendo President Satoru Iwata, claims future wii games will be played via sd card. And at the rate technology is squeezing and shrinking memory cards/sticks, soon we'll have 32gig and maybe 64gig sd cards to play games directly from. No need for discs, games will have virtually no load times and no need of hdd.

This will come to play with any sequel to future monster hunter games for wii.

Correct. No more Wii2 discussion, if you wish to talk about that continue it in off topic.

Hey Den, thanks for posting those IGN interviews with
Ryozo Tsujimoto san! I didn't know about that bit of
intel. And it is very exciting Ryozo and Capcom Jpn
are putting a lot of consideration for the western
MONSTER HUNTER Fans!  Wiispeak would be an advantageous
peripheral for the Wii when Tri comes out next year.

But I'm also interested in that article Evil Jaw posted
about Wii games on SD Cards....hmmmm, I think a new
blog is in order....

This is MUSOKEN, and I approve this message.

Hmmm. I can remember reading a long time ago that "RPG's" will support voice chat, but that was awhile ago.
