Hey everyone. There was a thread earlier that sort of went onto this topic thanks to Yuffie, and I decided to make a full thread dedicated to just this topic.
So, if you were a monster hunter in real life, what armour and weapons would you use, and why?
Here's the catch: You have to be reasonable. Everyone knows that in real life, you wouldn't wear monoblos armour and swing around the Akantor King Sword :3 Think of reasonable armour and weapons.
I would probably wear the Nargacuga set or the Rathalos S set without the helmet. The main reason is that both of these sets look cool, but at the same time, are light weight looking, and look easy to maneuver in, while still giving protection. Also, you'd have a good field of few so you wouldn't be caught off guard. I'd most likely use a longsword, probably from the Black katana series, or maybe some dual swords. Bow would also work really well.
So guys, tell me what armour and weapons YOU would use if you were a real Monster Hunter!

I doubt I'd EVER learn how to send an arrow that pierces THROUGH a monster, or fire 5 arrows vertically OR horizontally... But bows would be my thing. Always have been, always will be. Why take the risk of getting hurt when I can shoot your head off from a distance? :P And I'd probably be stuck with the Rathalos Gunner set (basic). Autotrack and Attack Up Large, everyone would want me to tell them where the monsters are and support from a distance. xD Wow, I wonder how autotrack would work like. Maybe a GPS signal blip on a flipdown visor that displays the region's map? Kewllllllll lol Now I just have to figure out how to make unlimited arrows appear from my arrow bag... |

Hunting Horn heeeeell yeah. Makin' some grooves for my fellow hunters, layin' down some conga beats. Ahem, in all seriousness, I'd be using a gunlance, probably Hellsting+, with some good ol' Gravios armor. No helm. Helmets are for sissies.

I would be completely naked armorless, relying on throwing knives and stones. When the monster charges me, I will stagger it with the punch gesture. I would combine poison with felvines and kill all the damn Melynxes. I would feed my Poogi steroids until it became a Poogidrome.

I would use ceanataur armour without the helm (think it looks wierd). Use the eager cleaver LS (how would you imbue thunder element??) or the black katana series. I think that pretty reasonable. O and I would train my real life cat to walk on 2 legs and swing a tiny arse sword and give him a flute that would heal me (I have no clue how the hell that would work out but...)

i would use the dora armor and the 2nd blademaster khezu helm haha and maybe the ceantur leggings |

In Real Life Monster Hunter.... I'd probably wear the Hunter U Mail Leg's and Vambraces, and then throw on a Red Guild Coat, annnnd the Death Stench S hood (Yes S for that little peice of cloth around the neck :P IRL one hit equal bone shattering agony, so i might as well look flashy right?) And for a Weapon/s i'd go Tachi/Bow at the same time, (HAX! Then again its really not that much weight...unless its a cross bow, those can be hefty) And since elements wouldnt work(Most Likely...I mean maybe...but gunpowder would only explode once)...and sharpness would be realistic...i'd probably go with the Susano Blade (Besides my IRL katana looks like it anyway) and as to the bow, Blue Blade Bow series looks pretty cool so i'd stick with that And then that poses another question, what to hunt? I'd Probably maul some kirin for fun and make girlie clothes out of them :B never enough girls in Kirin armor, then I'd eat some Blango Bacon and a Wyvern Egg Omlette xD (I think i /over thought/ this a little too much) |
