with no real additions except for:

- Voice chat while on quests as well as original keyboard chat function used in Monster Hunter for the PS2

- An online town/system similar to Monster Hunter 2 (Dos)

- Two control setups, one similar to that of the PSP controls and another to the original PS2 controls

Would you be interested? Discuss.

YES!

Although this begs the question, if such a thing were made, why stop at Unite and not just do what everybody wants and make it Frontier.

Not only would it be what everybody wants, but it would also count as a *new* installment instead of just a port, likely attracting more customers.

I'm glad to have your support in this thread Bastion, and I'm also very glad you bought up Frontier as well.

Why I had suggested Unite be ported was because I don't think it would be as costly as it would be to port Frontier over, I'm trying to take budget into consideration. Thinking about it now, I honestly don't think it would nearly as costly as it would to port over Unite considering it wouldn't require the game to be translated as well as the removing of any licensed content and organizing "Events" and what not.

That's true, we as long time fans would want a *new* installement, but let's use this as a means of attracting people who look at this online game as a casual game, then jump into it and say "Whoa, this is fun." thus spending countless hours on a game with a REAL online mode.

Wouldn't it be a bit refreshing to play in an actual online town though instead of wandering around as a little stickman in Ad-Hoc Party or navigating your way through Kai as a search arrow instead of your actual Hunter?

I'm sure they would all be for that classic meets present thing.

You can always Game Launch Ad-hoc Party from home if you want a quirky alternative. ;P

But yeah, I'd probably be interested even in a simple PS3-port of MHFU. :P Still, considering it already feels like playing that with Ad-hoc Party Game Launching through Home and the Dualshock support on the PSP Go, I guess they would indeed have to work on that "simple" port a lot more than that to make it sell really well.

That or we get surprised by a felyne spinoff title on PS3. XD
