No need for real folks that commentate on the tv. Just put the mode in where we can do it ourselves like the did a few GP's ago. That was perhaps one of the most creative and innovative ideas for this title. Shame it only was ever implimented in just one iteration of the game. |

Last remains of car manufacturers that said that their cars couldn't be damaged in games have ago long understood that damege is a REAL part of driving games and if they dont allow it they don't get to attend at all. AGAIN in every car racing game based on real world sports have this feature these days and so does SBK 09. Why Dorna, Capcom, Milestone or whoever refuses to see what is today's standard is beyond me.

Thanks everyone. Keep this thread going and I'll collate the questions for next weeks feedback. I've tried to answer a number of questions we missed last week in the next report, which I should be able to post for you later today. |

It might be because you can still drive a car with body damage but if you've damaged a bike then I bet your race is over. I'm not one for REAL damage in bike games for a few reasons, ONE it's a GAME, we aren't riding real bikes, idiots who rear-end you, those who have to WIN come what may (and yes there'll be a few postin' on here if truth be told), I would not enjoy getting wiped out on the first bend then have to wait the entire race in the lobby! Sorry but again it's not REAL life, it's completely different we're playing a GAME I've played enough MGP and can honestly say collisions "on" rooms nearly always have some of the above type racers in 'em. Yeah you can be courteous & careful but nine times out of ten you'll LOSE due to other peoples actions.

Well people play for different reasons. I play because I can't afford to race a bike and this is the closest I can get to the real thing. Also this is a much safer way to do it so I would like to see a simulator resembling the real thing as much as possible. |

I don't disagree with you, it's a carbon copy of why I play MGP? Thing is it's a game, one to be enjoyed rather than endured

I just think that everyone else in the industry have moved on and provided a much more immersive and realistic experience than MotoGp (game) is today and damage modelling is one of the tools to achieve that. I expect to see some visual damage after a spill (as in real life) and depending on the crash some performance loss also. Like in real life all crashes are not race enders and you can get back into the fight. After a minor crash at slow speed, in a wet race for example, you may only suffer some minor damage. -> rear brake lever is snapped off etc. -> no rear brake. etc. Would spice up things nicely in online races imho.

Moving "on" to me is a game that "works" or to put it another way, SBK08 & MGP08 didn't take a nose-dive due to how "damage" was or was not replicated, it was down to bad on-line implimentation & also a kind of "staleness", they weren't "exciting" Even the menus in SBK08 are "cheesey" I also think Monumental want to get the "excitement" back into the game.

Okay, lots of discussion here, but I've managed to pull the questions out of this thread for next weeks Q&A for the development team. Keep adding you questions in this thread, but please try to keep discussion in another one as it makes it a little easier for me to sort the questions from the debate. If there is too much discussion, I may miss some of your questions that get lost in the debate. Cheers... |
