Thanks for all of the feedback and discussion you recently posted regarding the subject of brakes. The MotoGP team at Monumental found your comments really interesting and have passed on some feedback for you.

There shouldn't be an option for extra braking power or anything that adds or decreases power.

Our comment: There isn’t.

The AI's braking should be bound by the same physics that the gamer is.

Our comment: Yes, they most certainly will be.

If the player gets hard on the brakes he should get the sensation of the forks compressing and the rear getting light. This can be done both visually and with the rumble feature of the controllers.

Our comment: You’ll be nicely surprised.

Please provide an option to allow the rear brake to lock up when the left trigger is grabbed all the way!

Our comment: Ok then!

I have no problem braking in Arcade mode on Gp08 (Capcom). In fact the brakes are ridiculously strong in arcade mode. In advance mode they are weaker but I favour them better as they don't stop me as much.

Our comment: Brake strength is an obvious hot topic. Brake power will be consistent throughout the game modes and will not be adjustable.

Just please allow the rear brake to lock when I grab it full on as that is REAL.

Our comment: Ok then (again).

MotoGP '08 suffered because Capcom took out the advanced of the game engine that were in SBK'08. That's why the game got so boring to me so quickly.

Our comment: We can’t really comment on 08 or SBK as they used a completely different engine. The next GP has been coded from scratch and we are really happy with the results we got so far!

If the brakes have too much power for you then you'd have the option to decrease it. There should never be a point that a player in arcade mode should EVER be faster than a player in sim mode because that just defies reality.

Our comment: We generally agree with these points, but you’ll have to wait for the big announcements before we can go into more detail.

I am a motorcyclist and former road-racer and the biggest complaint I have with MotoGP 08 (on PS3) is that there is no "feel" to the brakes,

Our comment: We can’t really comment on 08, but in racing games in general we agree. Braking is a big factor in the game-play. It’s not just about how fast you can go, but how you out-break your opponent. We were playing some fantastic online games today on our current build and it was my (Senior Producer) breaking ‘technique’ that pulled me up to second place. I have to say it felt ace fighting though the pack of riders.

You should be able to "lock-up" the rear too, something that was sadly missing from the last game.

Our comment: As we’ve previously mentioned, this will be possible. The rear brake, working as it should, is a big focus of our current handling model on the bikes.

We'll be starting another discussion thread soon on a new topic, but feel to add any additional comments relating to braking in this thread.

Thanks, I'll take any braking/handling you supply(level playing field), as it's a completely new build we're all debating stuff that you have probably already kinda sussed out.

The on-line options are my main concern.  Waiting for that topicLaughing

Yes in fact that's where pretty much all the passing takes place in racing, that and slipstreaming.

Walken  don't get ahead of yourself just yet because that wasn't very clear and the rear brake also locks on SBK sim mode and GP500 I think the question the may interest Walken is whether the rear brake will behave like in the Climax games  of will it behave in a more realistic manner I.E serving to back into a corner or scrub off speed.......Steve????

Well I for one am not impressed or optimistic.  THis game has gone through  many people giving their interpretaions on how brakes work.  There should be something that gives you adjustability of the pressure as there is on a real GP bike.  Steve says NO.  Great!! So we have an across the board break pressure so no one can adjust the bike to their specific style but now visa versa.  I seriously doubt any of these lap times they are currently running are going to be any where near the fast group so their take on this matter is very minimal since they are more than likely to slow to evaluate it properly.  The fact that there is this left trigger rear brake crap coming back in the mix is so stupid since barely even 10% of the overall braking on a motorcycle happens with the rear brake.  Almost all braking is done with the front brakes.  I can't understand why they want to incorperate jet ski handling on a motorcycle game.  I hope someone from the world of Dorna and racing get on this and tell them that IF this is the case they are wrong, simply wrong.  The bottom line is that if they fail again which at this point there isn't much to get excited about the money won't be there.  Business no matter what you are doing is a results oriented thing.  If they don't get what they want then they are going to have to make excues and blame will be shifted.  I can't believe we are going to see rear brake sliding again.  Looks like it is back to the stupidity.  I hope I am wrong but if they are making this game for that group of people it will be a major piece of crap.

LOL then go and play GP1 and leave progress alone to the ones who want to see a game get better not worse and more poserish.  This game will eventually become one of the best games ever I just don't think the right people are doing it.  HEre is to MOTO GP 2013.

May I suggest going back to Xbla allowing us Capcom members to have our opinions in an environment where it isn't some personal dislikes of people opinions.

Thx..

I really think its wasted time breaking down someones psychological views towards members opinions. Its basically non productive. It  distracts from the point at hand which is bettering MotoGP by giving input to Monumental who are willing to listen to our opinions..

I would bet that placing your time wisely by stating your opinion rather than focusing on mine would serve you, Monumental and me in the out come of any future installments of MGP!

My opinion is that Gp1 had a more realistic Braking effect than any other MotoGP I've played..   In my video above if you watch the first corner at LeMans you can see that!

There are also other great elamples from Climax's  Gp1 that should be examined to contribute to future installments IMO.. Sometimes technology from the past is way ahead of it self, which IMO is the case with Climax's GP1..

Uh.... Walken I hate to break it to you and I know you think the world of GP1 as do i but there is absolutely NOTHING realistic with the breaking , or anything else for that matter in GP1. As a matter of fact nothing that Climax ever put out ever remotely resembled riding a motorcycle
