I have a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick I just picked up. It has a "slider" that rotates on the base that can be used, at least in past MotoGP games, as the throttle. MotoGP 09 doesn't recognize this when I try and assign it to the Accelerate function. A real motorcycle's throttle isn't an on/off switch - how can I get this to work? (I've tried a Microsoft joystick also, without luck) |

I had the same problem with my logitech momo racing wheel. The game only recognises the x and y axes on the joystick from memory and my pedals were mapped to different ones. It works fine when I don't install the drivers for it. I reformatted my computer and tried the wheel before installing them and lo and behold it worked. Before that I was using glovepie to remap the pedals to the x and y axes which is something you might have to do. GlovePie can be downloaded here: carl.kenner.googlepages.com/glovepie_dow... You will also need PPJoy: www.geocities.com/deonvdw/Docs/PPJoyMain... Here is the script I was using: PPJoy1.Analog0 = MapRange(Joystick1.x, -1,1, -1,1) |

I have a CH 568 Combatstick and am having similar problems. I can't reprogram ANY of the buttons, and the only thing I can do for a throttle is program the throttle thumbwheel to full power. I hate to say it, but the whole programming thing for joysticks is a bad joke. If it won't let you change what button does what, then it's worthless. I'm downloading the CH Control Manager an hopefully I can program it from within there. Capcom might as well leave off their programming program. It's no help whatsoever. |

What's the CH Control Manager? I wonder if a gamepad for the PC will work? |

CH Control Manager is a downloadable mapping program free from CH Products. I downloaded it and tried to change the button assignments, but the program is not exactly "user friendly". Too bad Capcom's in-game joystick mapping program is so useless. I would like to assign one button for front and rear brakes, but it only allows the use of the throttle wheel for brakes. Really weird. It just beeps if you try and assign a button for brakes. They really need a patch to make the joystick configuring program actually work. Moto GP 3 is much more configurable for joystick operation. Somebody "fixed" something that wasn't broke and now it just doesn't work. |
